Friendly, clean and comfortable, well-located

Great stopover hotel. Staff were very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable and had good tea and coffee-making facilities. It was quiet at night. All good.

Is it bacon or SPAM??!!

The staff were super friendly and couldn't help enough.

The cooked breakfast was not good; we're not sure what the bacon was...possibly SPAM? That said all the ingredients were cooked perfectly, especially the fried bread and scrambled eggs, just a shame the chef is being provided with inferior ingredients. The mattress on the bed was well past it's best. The soundproofing between the rooms was non-existent. The lack of bar was offset with a discount voucher for the bikers pub next door, great idea but need to consider if this is the best solution - I'll leave it at that.

Inside lovely and had a pleasant stay, underrated but outside needs sorting out.

Was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed, plenty of coffee, biscuits, milk, toiletries. We didn't get time to eat but the Indian resteraunt downstairs smelt absolutely beautiful. Bed was very comfortable and I slept very well. Towels were immaculate and fluffy Room was a really nice size

The tv remote didnt work which was a bit inconvenient. Outside when you pull up the place is absolutely filthy and needs cleaning up asap to be honest. It gives a very poor impression which is unnecessary as inside is perfectly nice. My recommendation to the hotel would be to do there best to rectify this as quickly as possible and plant some plants in the planters that are being used as ashtrays, that small difference would be huge. You have to ask staff to let you in late at night as the card slot on the door isnt working All in all i wouldnt let this put you off as it was more than worth the money.

Clean, tidy, good parking and convenient

Our room (9) was on the chilly sidr despite the radiator being hot. The radiator in the bathroom was not working. A party was on in the main area, so we couldn't sit and have a quiet chat with our friends but had to stay in our chilly room.

Cheaper than an uber home, can’t complain!

Price for twin room cheap as chips! Beds comfortable. Yes it’s being renovated and could be maybe a little safer on arrival I managed to avoid tripping over carpet and wires lol but for the price how I cannot complain. Reception staff lovely!

Felt like home.

Although going through refurbishment, the room was clean and fresh, the staff were also friendly and welcoming. We especially loved the fact the room was really warm.

Reception staff really nice and friendly

complained about the smell as the place was doing construction as I arrived and all the way through my stay, even i complain nothing happened, I was there to do a local medical responder course, just for me could not sleep because of the smell of paint vapour, as well as it was unsafe environment,

Large car park

Cold, dirty, poor bedding and bed, poor breakfast, water pressure is not good in the shower, place is being refurbed- really shouldn't be open. Needs a complete overhaul. Had to request they put the heating on in the bedroom. Had to request additional duvets for warmth. No heating in breakfast area. Food items unavailable with no prior warning. Requested to speak with a manager but they failed to bother. The more you look, the more issues you find. Not worth the price. I messaged with my issues and haven't had a response to that either hence this review.

It was a great location for the Emporium

The whole place felt tired and worn. The corridors smelt smoky and were cold. Although the room itself was warm. Room and bathroom in need of an update, shower pressure poor.

Really happy. We’d come again

The breakfast was really good. We ate at 8.30-it was lovely. The rooms were warm & we could regulate the radiator. The water was nice & hot in our bath room. The room supplies were efficiently topped up at once on request. Staff were respectful kind & prompt to help.

There was only just enough space in the bathroom.

In the circumstances of an unexpected car repair being required, it provided an overnight stop.

When I asked for help at various times, each staff member was helpful and cheerful.

The room was not heated when I arrived, I had to turn on the heating. There was no usb port for telephone charging in the room, so I had to ask reception for an adapter. There was no notepad or writing implement in the room and I had to make notes while on my phone. I was staying overnight due to a puncture and my car had been towed elsewhere for repair later, so I had no luggage.

Public areas absalutely Baltic, staff were wearing their own coats to try and keep warm, management failed to bring any type of emergancy heating at all, ( seemed like they did not care, especialy about the staff who were left to get on with it. I must point out the staff were working in conditions which were far below working conditions laid out in law.. Minus 4 out side 2 degres inside the building.

Fair for the price and a perfect location for us.

The location is perfect for us, due to its close proximity to Coalville and the fact there is a shopping complex/ fuel station nearby. The staff were all very attentive and greeted us well. A nice quiet hotel during the week days we have stayed, always warm with plenty of hot water and clean, comfortable beds. The breakfast is good value with plenty to choose from with a cooked breakfast served to you by very nice young staff.

We have stayed on several occasions on the ground floor but this time the room we were given was quite ‘tired’. The plug by the radiator wasn’t working, there was black mould in corners of shower and had a very noisy tap..the bathroom as a whole needed a spruce up. There was not much storage for clothing, we have had better in other rooms. There was no hair dryer (I didn’t bring mine, as there is always one in the room) but the receptionist quickly sorted me out one, once she was aware. Lots of cobwebs behind and at side of the bedside table resulting in a very large spider appearing and disappearing behind the gap in the headboard! We did manage to dispatch the thing on 2nd night…luckily, I am used to them, having an allotment with several sheds..but anyone with a ‘spider phobia’ would have woken up the entire hotel!

Confy beds - big car park. The cook breakfast is good. The location is okay.

The croissants were chewy. There was no cutlery on the table, and there was not enough staff around to ask for it. I wouldn't go back again.

Bed was very comfy. Nice bath. Staff very pleasant

I didn't have a kettle, when I mentioned it at checkout, reception said it might have been in a cupboard! The window didn't open and no working extractor in the bathroom. I booked two rooms. One for me and one for my daughter. The hotel was not busy. I was in room 2 she was in 22. We couldn't have been further apart. Needs an update.
