food on the resturant was lovely
No hot water for shower freezing cold
No Heating in room was minus 1 outside !
Noise from adjoining rooms was disgraceful
TV not working at all
Bed noise unacceptable
No coffee at breakfast and again freezing dining room
Poor welcome at reception from a very unhelpful young employee telling us to go to the golf club to eat !

Nice food and location for speyside whisky distillery tours.
A broken glass window in our room and they do a service charge on food. But we were able to get that removed.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay
. We were disappointed by the lack of a single bed in our family room, a fold out bed for our 10 year old son and while they had no other beds they did offer extra duvets to make as comfortable as possible for him.
Dinner was lovely and breakfast fine while no coffee machine was a bit disappointing especially as they replaced with a flask.
Lack of a proper bed for 10 yr old to sleep on especially given we spent a lot on accommodation. Facilities at breakfast no freshly made coffee etc.

It’s exactly what we were looking for on our overnight winter stay, travelling north.
It’s brilliant, ever so slightly tired around the edges, and the food was exceptional.
Water pressure in shower wasn’t great (not complaining but needed to put something).

We and our dog were made to feel very welcome. We’d booked a Garden Room and that was perfect.
Nothing.

Great staff and service. Really large penthouse rooms were nice and would have been great to relax for a few days with views of the mountains, we were unfortunately tired and just in a nights pitstop. Good breakfast and very nice staff for service as well.
No lifts, stairs all the way.
It’s a little far from any shops or town centres, which isn’t fair to complain about but make sure you have everything you need before you get there.

Great location and helpful, friendly staff.
Sadly, I had to leave before breakfast was served on Saturday morning. I’m sure it’d have been lovely though.

Everything to be honest, the room was wonderful and spacious. Bed was comfortable and loved the bath in the room (we stayed in a suite). As soon as we arrived Staff were friendly and helpful straight off the bat. Breakfast was nice and even offered our dog Rio a nice sausage treat, the lovely lady that served us breakfast was extremely pleasant and very attentive.

Breakfast was fantastic, the village is beautiful, the staff were pleasant. Inclusive toiletries are lovely, towels and bedding clean
Pain peeling from bathroom window cleanliness not as I’d expect for such a place, things like dusty bath, marks on roller blind in bathroom. Also the view from bathroom window was an outside wall of the building, literally a few inches from the window. Would have been better not to have the window. We just closed the blind

This a charming hotel, next to the station and Steam trains. Friendly , cosy atmosphere. Staff very accommodating.
Could do with an open fire in the lounge and some more sofas- comfy seating

My partner and I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Boat. We visited between Christmas and New Year and the staff had taken real care to decorate the place which felt very cosy and festive. The log burners and friendly staff also added to the lovely atmosphere of the place. I would definitely stay again!
The car park isn’t very large and one night I had to park on the road, but it’s a very quiet area so there were no issues.

Decorated beautifully for Christmas. Friendly, helpful staff.
Bed was very uncomfortable and shower pressure awful. Breakfast was a bit of a disaster. Ran out of pastries/croissants and staff unable to keep up with filling up hot water /juice etc to keep pace with demand.

We had some problems with the room heather but they fix the problem.

To be honest not a lot
Heating not working, shower cold and pressure poor, the mattress on the bed had springs sticking out and the food at dinner and breakfast clearly had ingredients that were reheated to order ,a 4 star hotel it isn’t

The Boat is a great location next to the steam railway. Book for breakfast as well, nice little buffet and excellent fresh cooked. Room was lovely and a spacious and excellent shower.
It was a bit chilly on arrival but apparently a problem with the heating. Which was soon back up to speed.

Breakfast was very good and dinner was ok
have stayed a few times before, I think this was the 4th time but it was only for 1 night this time. we had 2 rooms. The first room with 1 person in seemed to be ok with a large TV and comfortable bed. Our room you could feel the bed springs though the mattress and it had a tiny TV ( Maybe why I am a bit salty ) We also had half a dozen flies cruising round it. Got rid of them but a few more pitched when we got back after dinner.

We enjoyed our stay here! The staff was friendly, room modestly comfortable, and the restaurant was really good. The free breakfast was also very good!
The chef was able to adjust to my lactose allergy and the food is plated very beautifully to make you feel like you are in a very fancy restaurant while having the comfort of an inn. We ordered a bottle of white wine our first night and they stored it in the bar fridge for our second night. Very accommodating! I also had no issues at breakfast having options for warm breakfast and they had some soy milk available for cereal.
We would stay here again! It is close proximity to many hiking trail heads, and when the steam train is in season, it is right next to a station. I think I prefer staying in the off season though since it’s quiet!
Nothing wrong with the stay. If anything the adjusting the shower took us a bit of time to figure out since there is a delay in the temperature adjustment and the water pressure isn’t as high as other stays for a rain shower setup. There is a normal shower head/handheld option on the shower head though!

The breakfast served on a cold plate, but food was so nice.
Exreamly slow coffee machine, also the coffee was not warm.

What a gem of a place! A last minute booking on our part and we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. A really special location, Boat of Garten feels like a wee hidden gem. And the interior is exactly what you want from a cosy Scottish hotel. The team were really friendly and accommodating. Although we were there with a fussy 8 month baby the team made us feel so welcome and taken care of. We live in the Western Isles so next time we need to stop into Inverness we will definitely be back. Excellent value for money. Gorgeous spot. Lovely stuff.

So many things to like about this place.
Fantastic location right next to the Strathspey railway in the lovely boat of garten. located in beautiful countryside with everything on your doorstep including Aviemore
Although we did not get the room that we booked we were not charged for our dogs. I have a badly broken wrist and staff could not have done enough to help me with kindness. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we had a lovely shower room and the room was nicely decorated.
The breakfast was absolutely incredible one of the best cooked breakfasts I have had. Magdalena the manager was fantastic and I need a new friend in her. Also the breakfast and kitchen staff were amazing and they allowed us to take our time and we were not rushed out as I was struggling with my broken wrist.
I honestly would recommend this hotel and so don't listen to any of the negative reviews.
I will definitely be going back special thanks to Magdalena for looking after us so well we arrived as strangers and left as friends
Little thing was that we didn't get the room that we paid for but I understand mix ups happen and them letting the dogs safe for free made up for that.

Lovely location, well presented with busy yet attentive staff
The heating in our room didn’t work throughout our two night stay. Not offered another room to stay in or even a warm room and a hot drink while the fan heater did its job. Very cold over night as we couldn’t leave the heater on.

Evening meal was very good but very expensive.
Wrong type of beds in the booking. One of the beds was covered in hair. The place was so busy not even a place for a pre meal drink and seat.

A traditional-style inn with comfortable, recently renovated, and spotlessly clean rooms. Nicely located next to the historic steam railway station. The restaurant served excellent pub food.
Some bar noise at night
