Oxford Hotel

New, modern and luxurious throughout. Great rain shower experience. Very clean bathroom, good selection of toiletries, magnifying illuminated mirror. All comforts in the room, including extra cushions, table and chairs, efficient and quiet A/C (used for heating), nicely decorated for an holiday feel, extra large TV, coffee and tea and biscuits. Garden-facing room, no external noise at all (the garden could be more looked after, for a proper “view”). The only minus is the lack of sufficient soundproofing between rooms (I could occasionally hear steps and banging/dropping noises from the room above and movements on the corridor). It did not affect my stay (it may be an issue if you want to sleep during the day and you are a light sleeper). I had a great time and I would stay there again.

Although room is small it is renovated, clean, nice decoration, and even the bathroom size is ok. Suitable more for business trip. I assume for couple it is less comfortable. Few problems. Although room is not in same building with front desk, there is no telephone (and if there is I couldn't find it) in order to connect. I didn't see in the offer that I might get a room at -1 floor. The combination of staying in small room below street level might cause unpleasant feeling. Moreover while getting out of the room and/or the elevator, the corridor is dark, and only step by step the lights turn on. I will recommend as well to add instructions in case of emergency. Overall it was good stay, rate/location and the room itself were great. I assume I will use it for my next business trip.

Nearby tube station. Plenty of Halal eatery around.

Well located next to Earls court station. It’s part of the Merit Kensington block of hotels ( it seemed to us as it had the same reception) . Ac cooling was good and we were also provided portable ac which was very helpful. Rooms size was ok but that’s standard for central london. Smart TVs were useful. All the positives were unfortunately negated by the one big negative which was the mattress on the beds were very painful as springs were popping out and the team did not take action despite my complains hence I could not sleep for the two nights I stayed and finally moved out to my other hotel as my existing back condition would not have allowed any further pain. Also just for info they keep a 100 pound deposit which is not so common nowadays but as long as it’s returned within a few days( however we were told it could take upto 10-15 days which seemed a bit too long).
