Lugger Hotel ‘A Bespoke Hotel’

Staff are great, Anne on Reception is a credit to the place and couldn't be more helpful. The location is lovely, picturesque and isolated. Accommodation was very clean and well appointed.

We booked a deluxe room with balcony and were given room 101, in the Boathouse, which is a building separate from the hotel. There is a balcony but it overlooks a water treatment building and there are no pictures of that room on the website or Booking.com, it spoils the balcony view entirely so is not worth the cost. This is a ground floor room and as well as hearing the occupants of the room above walking around we could clearly hear them going for a wee, as loud as if they were in the same room. Apparently this has previously been raised as an issue but said can't address it cause it's an old building. Clearly they could install sound proofing behind a suspended ceiling. Bed was large which is nice but means that you bang your arms and even head on the bedside tables. Messaged hotel via Booking.com regarding dietary needs but this wasn't picked up at all and told was storm damaged router one to weeks prior to our visit but the wifi was working so the router must be. Given the spoilt balcony view and hearing sound of other guests using the toilet, it's not worth the premium cost. My advice would be to phone and check which room you're being offered.

Fabulous location, stunning views, friendly staff

For those looking for a quiet and stunning location off the beaten track, then this is for you. We needed to recharge our batteries and this helped us to do it. Very friendly staff, who couldn’t do enough to make sure our stay was nothing but exceptional. Food is fresh, flavoursome and plentiful. Our stay here was one of the best hotel stays we’ve ever had. Perfect. Thank you.

I didn’t like being separate from the main building. Room very small and not worth the money. Bed was a bit uncomfortable for me.
