Ascension Cave Suites - Special Class

Excellent location: Without a doubt, the biggest advantage of this hotel is its location. It is literally a one-minute walk from one of the best viewpoints overlooking Göreme, where visitors normally pay around €30 for access. As hotel guests, we had free access, which was a fantastic bonus. The panoramic views, especially with the hot air balloons, were absolutely beautiful. Friendly and helpful staff: The staff were generally kind and tried their best to assist us. A special mention goes to the young gentleman working in the breakfast restaurant, who was particularly helpful, polite and attentive. Clean bed linen: Although the overall condition of the hotel was disappointing, the bedsheets were clean, which we appreciated. Room cleaning was also available upon request.

Hotel standards and cleanliness: As someone who regularly stays at Hilton hotels, I found the adjustment quite difficult. I appreciate that cave hotels offer a different, more traditional experience, but I would personally place this property closer to a basic three-star standard rather than an upscale hotel. The rooms and bathrooms were extremely dated, with considerable dust throughout. The bathroom was particularly disappointing, with a very strong, unpleasant smell that made showering extremely uncomfortable. Several fixtures were broken or in poor condition, and the toilet was barely functional. These are basic maintenance and hygiene issues that really need attention, regardless of the hotel’s category. Breakfast: Breakfast was traditional Turkish rather than the varied international or continental breakfast you might expect at a Hilton. This is not necessarily a negative if you enjoy Turkish breakfasts, but international travellers should be aware that the selection is quite different. That said, the restaurant staff were genuinely lovely. Hot air balloon booking advice: This was another frustrating experience. Before arriving, I was advised not to book the hot air balloon in advance, as the hotel would arrange it for us once we arrived. However, when I approached reception to book for the following morning, the manager quoted €320 per person, which I found extremely expensive. Fortunately, I had researched independently and managed to find an alternative for €290. I had also seen advance booking options around €220, so following the hotel’s advice could have cost us considerably more. My advice to future travellers would be to research and compare hot air balloon prices well in advance rather than relying entirely on last-minute hotel arrangements.

this was the best hotel room, it was located just steps away from the hot air balloons. Most people had to pay to go to the path, but the path was just outside our door, the staff was exceptional, we had a wonderful time.

The staffs were super helpful. We didn’t realise we actually booked the best situated hotel with a superb vantage point! People had to pay to go through the road, we had free access. We got free genius breakfast and it was unexpectedly good !! Very recommended !

I was on crutches and no transportation could go up to the reception / lobby and that was very inconvenient considering how steep the roads are. Also there’s a bathtub for shower but I’d rather have a walk-in shower.

Excellent location with easy free parking up the Hill. You have to pass the guard that guards the way to the viewpoint of the balloons. Excellent breakfast too with achanging options day after day.

In fact my score is low unfortunately due to the poor batch room facilities because for the rest this is an excellent place to stay. But if I say poor in fact it is terrible, really dirty dirty bath / douche flowing out of it water all over the floor. This really needs replacement and spoils the for the rest excellent stay and location. I wonder how this remains approved this way.
