Great place to stay for a Cologne city centre break

Great location on edge of city so not too crowded .Excellent staff and a modern clean efficient spacious well priced hotel.

loved it! my partner and I were on our first holiday and we absolutely will book again!

the room was great, spacious with all the amenities described. not 100% soundproof but pretty good and very few disturbances. floor to ceiling windows were lovely. very comfy bed and excellent walk in shower.

not a lot to be honest, had a really lovely stay. not many milklettes were provide and getting more took a while. we didn't add on breakfast as it was 30 EUR each per day which personally felt like a lot but we saw the breakfasts and the did look good. and as I said, not 100% soundproof, but really excellent! we'd stay again

Overpriced

Location

Very Expensive. No breakfast included in €235 per night room, breakfast extra €30 pp. This is Cologne (Köln) not New York. TV remote not working from 1st night but no response from reception. Discoloured bedlinen, thin worn towels. No slippers. No shower cap. No bathrobes. No minibar. 4 clothes hangers. This was sold as a Superior Deluxe Double room - extremely disappointing.

Nice hotel, great location, lacking restaurant and details

Great location, excellent room, great breakfast

No restaurant even though it said there was one at time of booking. Cleaning left a bit to be desired with dusty skirtings visible for a three night stay. Had to request fill of shower gel. Bathroom door poorly maintained, especially for a premium room. No robe or slippers, again would have expected for a premium room.

One of the best hotels we stayed, amazing value.

Room was equipped better than other similar hotels. Loved the little seating area by the window! Amazing big shower room, coffee machine in the room, dog friendly. There was three of us and the third bed was all setup before we arrived. Very impressed! Location is great too.

Decent but unloved

Room size decent. The bed was on the soft side but comfortable. Shower is decent despite issues with its condition. Valet parking was excellent and the gentleman who ran it was extremely friendly, accommodating and useful.

For the price and the sense of grandeur the Steinberger displays on the facade to clientele, it was a little drab, shabby and expensive. Externally, the hotel was very unloved, dirty, especially the grounds, where glass, food waste and in some places someone's underwear were strewn on the grounds. WiFi was a disaster, intermittent in performance overall and on both nights of our stay internet access failed completely for several hours each time. I had to actually read a book 😉 The shower worked well enough but pieces of the shower head were missing and water leaked where it shouldn't, repeating the belief that the hotel aims higher than what is delivered. It just felt so unloved. Breakfast is expensive, avoid it in favour of all the wonderful cafes surrounding the hotel instead.

Great Location, clean & comfortable.

Great location to explore the city. Staff very friendly & helpful. Comp bottle of water in the room a nice touch.

Tea facilities in the room very lacking: 1 x Green / 1 x Berry 1 x Mint & 1 x Breakfast (which we would prefer) Because there is only 1 of each kind we had to share a teabag each morning & on the last morning there was no breakfast tea at all - not ideal & a small thing to rectify. We kept forgetting to ask for more but really we should not have to.

25 degrees in the hotelroom was too much. Second year we experienced this. No possibility to cool down the room. Slepping with open window was not nice because of the traffic.

Big traditional hotel close to Belgian quarters

Big and spacious both in the rooms and in the common areas. Safe and traditional, for people who like that.

Room was fine, good airconditioning.

No room service and self service bar. Beer bottles left all over tables inside and outside. Full ashtrays.

Comfortable stay in an excellent location

Large room that included a desk for working on should you need it. The room had air conditioning and you could also open the window to let natural air into the room. Excellent location for restaurants, bars, shopping, sightseeing. Good for transport links too.

We didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on quality. However the price seemed rather expensive.
