Hôtel Le Pré Saint Michel

Graciously located in the height of Manosque, this hotel excel by quiet, and clean large rooms well equipped, attentive front desk. We appreciated free parking and restaurant downstairs.

No bar or communal sitting / gathering area. A good bit out of town, and access not signed.

We chose this hotel for its convenient location relative to the places we wanted to visit, and we appreciated the pleasant dining room furnishing.

, Our overall experience was disappointing. The building looked nice in the photos on the website, but the reality was quite different. The approach to the hotel goes through unattractive housing blocks, which already set a poor tone. Our first room felt cramped and heavy with dark curtains and a suffocating atmosphere. We immediately asked to switch rooms . .Thankfully, they accommodated our request The second room felt dated and worn - with an old door, tired decor, and no proper shower - only a shower situated in a bathtub. Getting in and out of the bathtub would be particularly difficult for older guests, as there were no support handles and the design didn't prioritize accessibility. The lighting above the mirror was harsh, glaring, and unpleasant, and the fixture itself looked like it needed replacement. To add to the impression, there was a single vase with three tired looking plastic flowers, which only emphasized the lack of attention to detail. Upon exiting the bathroom, there was a narrow hallway with a metal doorstop. Both of us hit our toes hard, almost tripping over it during the night. When we mentioned it to the staff' they dismissed our concern. During the night the airconditioner was noisy, and the walls had no sound insulation - we could hear the guests in the next room talking and shouting past midnight, making it very difficult to sleep. There was also noise outside our window, which wasn't soundproofed. Breakfst was underwhelming - mostly sweet pastries with no eggs or vegetables. , We won't be returning to this hotel

The location is great. It has a great view to the valley areas of Manosque and Valensole. Driving to Valensole only needs half an hour around.

The facilities are not maintained well, such as the door to the balcony hard to open, the hair dryer installed in bathroom broken (eventually we found another one in the wardrobe). The entire structure is devoid of noise control due to its age, in particularly, very noisy in the early morning’s (before 7 a.m.). The receptionists can only speak English in a limited level. After 20.30 in the evening’s, it was hard to get anyone for help in the hotel. The instructions indicated in the swimming pool are only in French. We used the google translate for comprehension though.

The breakfast was excellent

Everything was perfect and the staff so helpful and kind could not have chosen a
