Location was the best

Our room was close to the lift shaft and was a little noisy, the aircon did not work well

Clean modern rooms right on the water and walking distance from central Nice. We booked last minute for the Monaco Grand Prix and were a little leery about booking.com, but the our rooms and the location exceeded expectations. Front desk was very helpful in arranging taxis to Monaco. The only glitch was that after booking two smaller rooms which were subsequently declined we booked two larger rooms; and then found when we arrived that we had three rooms. And because it was Grand Prix weekend, we could not cancel the extra. This was entirely booking.com's fault and not that of Hotel Mercure. Fortunately we encountered some travelers who were desperate to find accommodations and gladly took our extra room. Would definitely stay here whenever I am in Nice

Breakfast is only buffet with no a la carte. They do have a unique setup where you can fry your own egg - and I literally mean one egg. The pan is just big enough for one. A la carte omelette or eggs benedict et al should be an option

Location, comfortable bed, breakfast good, wifi good.

For a 4 star hotel the following problems - towels small, only paper cups, no glasses to drink out of or put your toothbrush into, no tea spoons, milk or free water, no slippers on a laminated floor.
