Very quiet, great location
8.0 / 10.0
We loved the funny and kind receptionist. We also liked the quiet street out front and the many bicycle parking slots around the area. The hotel was close to a busier street with lots of restaurants, bars etc., so conveniently situated while still well-placed for undisturbed sleep. Also, the crooked stairs charmed us; they made the whole hotel feel lived-in and charismatic.
We were not perfectly comfortable with the bathroom door not closing. The whole bathroom was also a tad too cramped for our liking, and with the shower doors not properly aligned (and the shower head fixed in place) the floor was wet after showering no matter what we tried. Hopefully it was just our room and not a general thing.

The room was more spacious than we initially thought and the location close to Gare de Lyon is convenient for commuting with good connections to the airports, including night buses. The room was clean and tidy and the cleaning staff was very kind. Comfy bed and the toiletries were good quality too. The aircon worked miracles heating the room and the towel radiator in the bathroom is a top convenience thing to have. Super stylish and artistic receptiom, totally puts you in the mood that the hotel is a well taken care of establishment.
For 2 nights, the hotel did not have hot water. This caused major discomfort for us as we could not prepare for our social events and we ended up showering at a friend's house which is simply unacceptable. The staff looked like having dealt with this before and it seems to be a classic story. They tried to play the event down but it waa very clear that it happens often, just not for so long. Finally, when we were checking out, we wanted to take a video of the reception for our memories, as it was very stylish, and the nighttime receptionist was very abrupt, asking us to check our phone to see if he was in the video, asking us to delete the video with him slightly showing and consistently telling us that the reception was on the hotel's website if we needed memories and asking us if something was wrong. Last time I checked, hotel reception areas are public areas in France. This experience was the least weird and felt very intrusive.

Spear towels and tissues in the bathroom cupboard.

The location
I picked this hotel because it says on booking.com that there was an airport shuttle available at this hotel, so I decided to splurge a little. Once I arrived to the hotel I was informed that there was no airport shuttle. This was really upsetting because it’s the entire reason I chose this place. Once I was given my room key and went to the room I found that it was dirty. Wet towels on the bathroom floor, unmade bed, garbage (photos attached). The front desk staff did switch me to another room and apologized, but it really turned me off. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, honestly would have had a better experience at a hostel.

My experience has been on the poor side, I must say. First, check in online did not work. After filling the form online, the message said I would receive an email with a description of how to get the keys. I never received said email.
Second, chat with us never worked.
Third, I tried to ring them all day on a Saturday, day of my arrival, to let them know I was getting to Paris with a late train, but no one ever picked up the phone, all day long.
On arrival, a member of staff was at the reception. I asked if I could have an orange as I was really thirsty and really would have loved one but he said all was locked up and dismissed the request quickly. Not his problem. I then asked if they at least had a water station. Nope.
He said there was a shop down the road. I am on crutches. Surely, when someone on crutches arrives at reception, you don't send them down the road to find a shop! And at 10 pm.
The lift was barely large enough for myself.
And very wobbly, but it did its job, thankfully.
The corridors were very narrow enough for a large person but not much more.
The room was next to the lift, which was very noisy.
The room itself was decently spaced but it really needed an upgrade! Some things were very used and tired and needed a refresh. You can forget usb charging (April 2025).
Not even a paper glass in the room!
This is ridiculous. What could possibly cost the hotel to put a couple of disposable glasses in the rooms.
And obviously you can forget coffee and tea facilities but that's not uncommon in Europe.
The bed was comfortable for my linking.
All seemed very clean.
My room was on the courtyard side so no views at all.
BREAKFAST.
Absolutely magnificent.
Lovely place but it's in the cellar and it's very small. If you suffer enclosed spaces, you may want to reconsider.
Again, for my liking, the breakfast was superb. Sausage, potato fritt, scrambled eggs presented as an omelette. Freshly squeezed orange juice. Other juices.

WIFI didn't work - there was no glass in the room and no coffee/ tea facilities so it was impossible to even have a glass of water without going out and buying some.

4.0 / 10.0
The location, because it's one of our favorite parts of Paris, while still close to the Train Station.
Color slob and bunch of lamps at the foyer are the only colors in the building. The rooms are tiny, the bathrooms minuscule. The bathroom doors couldn't be closed. I mean CLOSED. I didn't mind they couldn't be locked, though it may be problem for some, but the doors were bent and thus there was always about 7 cm space of unclosed door. The hotel didn't address the problem despite asking. The half of the light bulbs in the room didn't work. And despite trying to notch the heat upwards, the room remained cold at night. Some shelves were so dusty, our clothes would have a grey/white layer of it. They kept fixing something on the hallways, so the machinery and electric cables were strewn on the floors, sometimes hard to pass.

simple small clean rooms with comfy bed.
our carpet was wet like a bucket of water had been spilt, the staff didn’t seem bothered when we tried to explain the issue.

Excellent location for this colourful boutique hotel. Staff were very welcoming on our arrival. Room was a decent size and clean. Wi-Fi was excellent throughout the hotel and TV had plenty of channels. Staff were helpful, even advised that the train we needed would not be running due to a maintenance schedule. I couldn't find a fault with the hotel.
There was nothing to dislike apart from the €15 charge for breakfast. The cost persuaded us to go out for breakfast and there are plenty of places nearby. Who knows- we might have missed out on the best breakfast in Paris...
