Very friendly hosts. Great breakfast (served in 2 groups which you can choose from 8-9am or 9-10am) Good location. But in Alquezar everything is a good location since it is very small. Rooms are small but very cozy. Decorated with love. Small french balcony.
The bathroom door was a sliding frosted glas door. And not good closing/sealing.

Location, view from the window was stunning. Extremely helpful and friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Good breakfast, comfortable beds and very clean. A lovely family run hotel, highly recommended.

A village located in Huesca, the foothills of the Pyrenees, within the Sierra y Cañones de Guara Natural Park. A wealth of historical heritage against a beautiful natural setting the village grew up around its church and castle and became part of the defences of the nearby city of Barbastro. Alquezar has charming, narrow, arcaded lanes which wind up hill to the Moorish citadel set on a rocky outcrop with views down over the village and the river below. Entering Alquezar through a Gothic gate transports you to centuries past through the narrow streets meandering to the medieval town square surrounded by arcaded houses. Arriving in Alquezar in blistering heat 38 degrees 1530hrs to discover reception at Santa Maria hotel was closed and check-in would be at 1900hrs when Christina would be available for 3 hours. Fortunately the Manager at the sports shops next door said he would assist in understanding our reservation although had limited English. Juan ensured that the room we had booked with a view was available although it did not have a balcony stated we could bring our luggage in but confirmed Christine would start checking in at 1900hrs. However - the panaramic scape from our viewing platform was stunning. Breakfast was pleasing of a simple spanish buffet which was well served by the 3 ladies. Dellila on reception was a delighful young lady who understood our situation had no hesitation to check us out with no redress on 3 night stay being cut short - although she was sad we were leaving was my wife was feeling unwell being n a cramped room with malfunctioning Air Conditioning to hot to sleep and no chilled drinks available.
Room 210 was dated - rather like a 70's English boarding house with limited space for 2 with a tiny shower room. The towels were felt the same old and flimsy - the wardrobe/hanging space had be fabricated was disfunctional. And unfortunately had obsolete/old tired Air Con System had no small refrigerator for keeping drinks chilled - also having no bar service available was a health and safety risk in the current temperate climate and conditions. Too hot and uncomfortable to sleep on what looked like 2 campbeds strapped together that was provided as a double bed.
