As a frequent guest, the hotel's excellent location remains one of its greatest advantages and a major reason I continue to return. The rooms are generously sized, each with its own distinctive design and character, making every stay feel a little different. The speakeasy and hidden bar add another interesting dimension to the hotel, creating a unique atmosphere beyond the usual hotel experience. The reception team are consistently warm, welcoming and helpful, making arrivals and everyday interactions particularly pleasant. Overall, it's a hotel with plenty of character, a fantastic location and a distinctive sense of style that keeps me coming back.

The only area I feel could be improved is the hospitality within the speakeasy and hidden bar. Having visited on several occasions, I've noticed that the staff there aren't always particularly warm, welcoming or approachable, which feels slightly at odds with the atmosphere of the hotel. This contrasts with the reception team, who consistently demonstrate genuine friendliness and attentiveness. It certainly doesn't take away from my overall positive experience, but a more welcoming approach in the bar areas would bring the service in line with the excellent standards I've come to appreciate elsewhere in the hotel.

As someone who stays here regularly, one of the few frustrations is the ongoing renovation work. I completely understand and appreciate that these improvements are intended to enhance the guest experience, which is ultimately a positive thing. However, the noise and disruption can occasionally be frustrating, particularly in the mornings when you're hoping for a little peace and quiet. Good location amongst cafes, restaurants and walking distance to Marais shopping.

Throughout the night I could hear water falling, I assume whenever a neighbouring room flushed the toilet? At some points it crashed down so loudly I thought something had fallen in the bathroom. So I didn’t get much sleep. I also couldn’t figure out how the light switches matched to the lights in the bedroom, so had to use the main switch at the front door to turn everything off before bed. The receptionists were helpful and friendly and held my luggage for me.
