The staff were so lovely, when they saw my elderly parent they moved them to a ground floor with a walk in shower without us asking. Also the breakfast was delicious and hot - really nice touch to have the menu.

Loved Old Weir Lodge

The Manager was amazing. I had fallen ill and he was able to get me an appointment t ent at the local gp. That is service with a smile. Would recommend this accommodation to everyone. The breakfasts were amazing g snd the rooms are very clean and large. There was free parking on site which is a bonus. It was so convenient to all the sightseeing options.

We would recommend Old Weir Lodge to our friends and family.

Dining room staff was delightful and remembered us after our first visit. Knew exactly what our drink preferences were. Cooked breakfast was served hot and buffet supplies were kept neat and full. Short taxi ride into the village if it cold or raining. Road is busy but a short walk if weather permits. Front desk staff helped us design our day since we were without a car. Do not miss visiting the National Park. Short taxi ride to the waterfall and then wonderful walk back down to the Muckross Estate and Convent if you have time or energy. Also we enjoyed some great music on Sunday at a Pub where impromptu musicians come in to play and sing together. We thought if "everyone" had this tip it might be overrun but to our surprise it was exactly what we were looking for! Lively and fun afternoon.

The staff was so welcoming and helpful. Our room was comfortable, clean and large. It’s a very comfortable inn. Feels like home. And the breakfast is great.

The property was very nice and well maintained. It is walking distance to the shops, restaurants and a few sights. The staff were very friendly and even helped me arrange a courier service for an item I left at my previous accommodation.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was very pretty as was the lobby and sitting rooms The hotel is walking distance to the town center. Also, Excellent breakfast was included !

Nice facility and good location but questionable security

Good location and facilities were as advertised….clean, comfortable. Easy walking distance( 10 minutes) to town centre. Free parking on site. Excellent breakfast. Daily housekeeping.

Property itself was very nice. Security is an issue as the room door lock is a key not electronic. When we returned to our room after a day of touring our room had been made up. Two days later we found that our extra cash held in 2 separate places was missing ( 200 euros). By this time we had stayed in another hotel but this was the only hotel that someone was in our room while we were out and did not have a secure door locking system. I cannot recall if a safe was available in the room and the hotel has not responded to my question.

OLD WEIR LODGE IS OUR NEW FAVORITE.

We liked everything about this hotel. Friendly, professional and helpful staff lead the list. The room was spacious, bright, well-equipped and clean. Daily housekeeping service was outstanding. The location was perfect for us, a short walk to tour/excursion pick-up points. The breakfast room is beautiful, like a very nice restaurant with art on the walls and a buffet plus opportunity to order off the menu. The omelette was scrumptious. It is unusual to find a hotel that has put it all together as nicely as this one.

Only that we couldn’t stay longer here.

Very friendly staff - really helpful. Was easy to park . Convenient for the town.

Couldn’t open window at night - felt smelly and damp. Had mould in bathroom which was removed quickly.

Marvelous but when we return I would stay more than 4 nights

Great location. Very helpful staff. Excellent beeakfast. Special shout out for great sightseeing advice from the owner and also from Moira the bubbly delight who works the breakfast with incredible efficiency and enthusiasm.

We had an issue one morning with both the shower and the sink stopper. Promptly and successfully resolved by the staff.

Perfect location to visit all that Killarney has to offer.

Niall the host and his staff are welcoming, pleasant helpful and informative. The room was spacious and warm the location was spot on close to town, racecourse and attractions. Breakfast was varied and very tasty.

The nicest hotel I have been to in a long time.

Incredibly charming hotel with great atmosphere and friendly staff. The rooms are very comfortable and the warm breakfast is cooked to order. This is how good hotels used to be. The location is close to the national park and Ross castle. Bicycle rental places are nearby and the town centre and station are walking distance.

Everything was great, perhaps a few boardgames in the bar or lounge would be nice.

Just simply the best

Well what a wonderful place to be. The staff are incredible and really friendly. Linda at the front desk was just the best person to meet and greet. She made us really comfortable and gave such great recommendations- it was like chatting with a friend!Breakfast was delightful and you were so thoroughly looked after by the lovely serving staff.Totally relaxing vibe in every way.Would definitely return and have already recommended it to others.

Far from wonderful. Go elsewhere.

The breakfast was not excellent, but it was fine. Bread were all out of a package and not very fresh but the cooked ordered items were fine. Again, not excellent, just fine. The staff was very pleasant, other than as detailed below.

Our first room- 105- reeked of mold and humidity was extreme. The windows were open when we checked in but we had to close them because of the incoming bus. The smell was so bad that we were wheezing by 2 am and packed our bags, put our things in our car (didn't want our clothes permeated by the stench) and sat in the lobby. We then noticed that someone else made the same comment about a year ago on this site. And yet, they put us in there anyway and did nothing to fix it. We already were charged for 3 nights, so we were stuck! Thankfully our room was changed. Nothing more was said regarding our horrible first night. The "improved" room was basic. Not wonderful by any stretch of the imagination. Full size bed too small for two adults and a single bed up against the heater. So I slept near the heater and banged into it each time I moved. The pillows in both rooms were hard as rocks and I took 6 ibuprofen while we stayed there. I am shocked that the reviews stated this place was wonderful. Something strange is going on there and will cause me not to rely on the reviews as much as I did when planning this trip. We're traveling around Ireland and this place was the worst we've ever stayed in worldwide. When we wrote this to Niall, the owner, he shrugged it off. Perhaps this place is "ok" for young families with kids who don't expect any comfort and want a place that allows many folks in one tiny room. If you're a couple over 40, go to a decent hotel.

Great choice in Killarney!

Nice room, nicely furnished with everything you need, except air con and a mini bar. Really lovely staff at reception and a very nice breakfast, also with great staff, nice bar downstairs for an afternoon beverage. Nice flat easy walk into town, car parking on site.

Our room faced the road so with windows open there was road noise, ask for a room that faces the rear and you’ll be very happy!

Great 2-night stay

Liked that dining/shopping was a short 10-minute walk. I didn't realize the location was so close. With a lot of traffic around there, being able to walk was great! Breakfast was great!

Put towels on the floor to be replaced as the sign in the bathroom said, but when we returned at night the wet towels were hung up on the rack. If the sign asked us to hang towels, I would have. I've never had that happen.

Conveniently located with a short walk to the center of town. The staff was friendly and gave great advice on sightseeing locations. Complementary breakfast was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond for our daughter who needed to take exam exams, first first thing in the morning by supplying her with a private room with Internet service and took the time to deliver her coffee while she studied.

There is nothing to not love about this bed-and-breakfast.
