Residence Inn by Marriott London Tower Bridge

I assume Manager Jerryn Matthew had read this because things not quite right had improved slightly after my comments initially appeared on Google in early Aug. Since Agoda still relentlessly prompts me to review my stay, here is the review, a month after staying in Residence Inn Tower Bridge for 3 solid weeks. While most reviews are complimenting, I really am compelled to write this in a negative tone based on my authentic experiences when I stayed in a different Residence Inn three months ago --- Residence Inn by Marriott London Bridge. This recent stay, for our job's convenience's sake, the need to be close to Borough, London Bridge and Bermondsey, we decided to try Residence Inn at Tower Bridge. Another reason being this time we could book one with a better layout that makes more sense cos there is more space between the bathroom and bed, unlike last time @ Residence Inn London Bridge, the bathroom and the bedroom are literally ' side by side ' so one could jump right into bed from the bathroom without the need to walk one step. But how disappointing it was ( again ) this time at Residence Inn Tower Bridge. In fact, housekeeping at both residences is substandard if not bad. Overall speaking both residence inns are at most 2.5 to 3 stars and not even close to a 4. This room, like that in London Bridge, is not clean enough, with ample examples to substantiate my stance. On the 1st day we checked into the one bedroom open plan room, instantly we saw someone else's blonde hair on the floor, which 200% is from the last occupant cos mine is dark brown. The white net curtain has stains and when I drew it open, the hem collects a trail of dust. No toiletries. Shower leaks. Informed the reception the next morning but the stained and dirty net curtains are still there. The steely faucets have limescale all over, heavily stained from wear & tear. Shower door's plastic piping is grimy, loose-fitting, moulded and very unappealing to say the least. Shower leaks so it justifies the request for daily extra towels to soak up the puddle of water afterwards. In fact we specifically asked for daily fresh sheets and towels ½ month prior when making the booking. Never imagined the extra bath towels are for the leaky shower. It's not until I had the bumpy ironing board & stained iron that jets out b/w loose particles + brown liquid onto my white blouse, and bathroom mirror with dried water spills not wiped, shower drainage with hair, no tea bag refills two nights in a row that compelled me to go down to the cafe to get them and once again, aired our complaints. Oh, and not forgetting the tea cups and glasses still with massive tea stains and obvious lip stained marks 'fresh from the dishwasher' ...all such problems not rectified on the 5th day that we had to again let the reception know. Initial conversation on the 2nd day with the front desk proved futile. It's on day 7 – 8 when annoying issues still weren't addressed that every prevailing problem had to be jotted down on paper and handed to the front desk. Then for the 1st time suddenly someone finally was aware of the issues and sent technicians up to fix them. But not for long cos they reappear shortly after. The moulded areas, esp in the bathroom, and the strands of hair noticeably spotted persist , reflecting the housekeeping’s nonchalance in rectifying whatever is unhygienic. On our 12th day at night upon returning, it's therefore not too surprising to have found the bathroom mirror still heavily water stained, with zero attempt to wipe it well. Beds are flippantly made. We're just ½ way through our stay and had to blame ourselves to have naively and erroneously assumed Marriott a reputable name to rely on for sincere attentive service, clean in everything we come across, and professional problem solving that yields positive results. We have realised we pay for below par cleanliness, perfunctory guest service, and flippant work mentality. We choose both Marriott residences 2-3

The location is fantastic, with easy access to shopping and stunning views that make exploring a breeze. The room size was generous, ensuring a comfortable sleep after busy days. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience. Facilities were top-notch, making it a great value for money. While cleanliness was good, there’s a slight room for improvement, but it didn't detract from an enjoyable stay.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Its located in a safe neighbourhood and close to some of the most iconic landmarks of London. It’s a great option and I would return.

I stay 2-3 nights a week in London every week for work, this hotel was ok for the money, the beds are ok, the AC makes loads of noise. I asked about water bottles in the room and was told, yes, but there were none, showers were ok but nothing special and an odd drain smell in the rooms - 3 of us stayed in different rooms and we all though the same. if you can get a price below £180 its probably reasonable value. location good enough and breakfast was good to which is included in the room rate.
