Im very picky when it comes to where I stay. This hotel was in a beautiful location, all the staff were friendly and polite. The room was a decent size, nice decor and very clean. The bathroom was very large & very clean with a modern touch. Theres not much to do in the close local area at night (we both dont drink) but its a good location to travel around Scotland. Whilst we didnt have any evening meals, the breakfast was really nice.
Being super picky - the kettle and tea selection could have been better.

The location was good. Staff were friendly and helpful
The en suite was tiny you bash your arm on the towel rail trying to dry your hair. The bedding was clean but not the best. Pillows were very uncomfortable. The heating control didn’t work I kept turning it down to 15 but it just stayed at 25 why does a hotel in the highland only offer a Japanese beer and one from Edinburgh?

Staff friendly and very helpful. Loved the big bath in the junior suite. All the touches like soaps, towels, bath robes were good. Cleanliness good.
Inclusive breakfast was fine. Not outstanding but of a good standard. But they know how to do eggs!
Better control of the room heating. It's controlled by reception. In the middle of the night, the radiator next to the bed was fierce. Bathroom was cold unless we left the door open.

I was not able to stay at the property as they refused to allow me to stay in the room I had booked and paid for with my two small dogs. The room was not refundable - even though I had obviously booked this one in error- they refused to refund me and would only offer an alternative dog friendly room at a higher price. I was willing to pay a supplement for the dogs but they should have agreed to provide a similar sized room for the same price I had already paid, or agree to cancel the booking . As the size of the cheapest alternative dog friendly room (still more than I had already paid) was too small, I decided to cut my loss and decline the alternative room offered . BEWARE booking through Booking.com - they try to get you to panic you won’t find a room with “ hurry - last one available” type wording … I am usually VERY careful NOT to book non - refundable rooms but was completely caught out this time. The woman manager at The Atholl Arms was very rude and unpleasant and completely uninterested in making any compromise - she wouldn’t even allow me a credit for another room for later in the year. After speaking with her on the phone I felt really intimidated and that the last place on earth I would like to stay was her hotel. I decided to find an alternative place and lose all my money - £210. Very disappointed with Booking.com and Atholl Arms.

Having been away for around 5 days this was our last stop after attending a memorial service at pitlochry and moving onto the Landrover experience day . We had stayed in some really nice places, Spa's and so on! However this for us was the best. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was an issue at all with any of them. You can see they work very hard there and make sure that the guests are well looked after. I hope they get a great Xmas bonus if it were possible! I liked the modern decor of the rooms and the sitting area down stairs where you can relax and have a drink and a quiet chat. Not all places have this. The food was exceptional in the bistro. Pricey? You get what you pay for! Breakfast menu was the best of all places we had stayed without question! I would like to mention the young 'foreign lady' who was manning reception and who helped my wife move our bags to the room and also the scottish local person (Bald) lad who was extremely funny and hard working. They are a credit to the company!
The parking situation in Dunkeld is not great. Its a very popular place and well visited. Parking is at a premium. The hotel has its own 'Limited' parking area so it's a case of first come first served. This is just the way it is. If they could secure a bigger area it would be to their advantage.
I'm being extremely picky now here! I had scallops as a starter in the bistro. Whilst they were fantastic i would have liked to have had a little sauce of sorts on the dish to make it better. This is of course a personal thing and maybe not for others. I had previously had such a dish in the Loch Fyne hotel a few days before and they were exceptional.

The staff were happy and helpful. The open fire in the lobby was great as sat there for a drink after a lovely dinner. Breakfast was also really tasty. The hotel is placed on a very picturesque part of the village - a very beautiful part of Scotland.
Nothing could have been improved upon.

The room was lovely and I took a suite with a fab bath and beautiful bathroom. The food was great and very tasty.
The bed was solid, my partner and I didn’t sleep at all, the sash windows rattled every time a large vehicle went past (deliveries were early to the shop across the street). It didn’t represent great value for money considering it was the best part of £300 and I couldn’t sleep…the one thing you expect as a minimum. There is also no real bar area so you sit in the lobby which has no ‘atmosphere’.

Great location. Nice lounge area to sit and have a drink in. Spacious bedroom and comfortable bed. Good breakfast
The decor was busy and not to our taste. Service in the bistro was a bit hit or miss. My husband was given the wrong meal so we had to wait while the correct one was cooked. Food and drink were expensive with a 10% service charge on everything

The master is absolutely beautiful and made our stay extra special…the pictures don’t do it justice. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and brought us breakfast in the room for the 2 mornings we stayed. I will definately be back!

The breakfast and evening meal were excellent
Very clean and well decorated
Very comfortable bed
Would have benefited from somewhere to put personal belongings, only surface in bedroom was tea tray and small bedside cabinets.
Case had to go on floor.
Shower had problem with keeping right temperature, obviously other demands on water pressure, went from too hot to too cold constantly.

Staff were amazing. Very efficient. Very quirky place. Food was exceptional.
We had a room on the main road and it is very noisy. No double glazing so I bought ear plugs and slept better the second night.

Our room was nicely decorated, bed was comfy, the shower was great, the staff were friendly and the location is perfect.
I think my expectations had been too high due to the cost and location of this hotel. I was expecting it to be better.
The room was lovely but it had a dusty smell to it, possibly from the cupboard, this made sleeping hard the first night. We opened all our windows to make it better the next night. The windows are single glazed sash windows so even on the top floor the road traffic noise is loud for light sleepers. I used ear buds to give me silence. The bathroom was quite small and the materials used were a bit cheap so the bath made a lot of noise when you showered in it.
The hotel has an AA rosette for their food but I have no idea how, the food was very expensive and what we had was pub chain standard, both dinner and the breakfast. Again, I think the price and Rosette had my expectations too high. For food there are much better places close by, I really wouldn’t recommend eating here for the cost of it.
We have been on a road trip around Scotland and I just think we had much better accommodation and food elsewhere for a lot cheaper. This was £530 for two nights, during the week! Not worth it!

All staff very helpful & friendly from the time we arrived until we left, very engaging, helped with bags
Meals were very good, mix of your normal & a la carte, service was exceptional, so friendly, knowledgable, helpful & the dining areas were very comfortable & & inviting
Rooms were comfortable, roomy & clean - old building so expect some quirks but that adds to the charm of the place
The hotel interior decor is very inviting, comfortable (particularly if it was wet/cold outside) & has the most amazing decorative style - fun, abstract, love the dog art. Nice to enjoy an area that feels intimate & cosy instead of cold, uninviting areas without any nice seating, ambience. What a joy to enjoy dinner in comfortable chairs not some modern cold metal/wooden chairs
The bar/dining by the river is a must (during warmer months) such a unique area but in close proximity to hotel
Small things - be careful in shower, very slippery (but a mat is provided), very little space to hang towels, clothing in shower
Seems to be a thing with hotels just now but no top sheet on bed, we were there during a warm spell & the quilt was far too warm but there was no alternative

Beautiful Hotel, very helpful and friendly staff.
Nothing to dislike
