From about 9 pm to 8 am it was just what I wanted.

The location for an overnight stay between trains was very convenient. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the breakfast adequate, though a little expensive.

Great hotel for an affordable price very close to Gare Carnivin!

The reception and other staff were very kind and helpful. The rooms were in great condition and clean. Breakfast was also served as well!

Recommended for conference trip to Geneva

My room was ready when I arrived: instead of just leaving my luggage, the room was ready and I could check in. I highly appreciated the gesture! The overall atmosphere is a little oldfashioned, but in a rather charming way. Location is very convenient, with also a nearby bus stop to the airport.

Great location opposite the station, short walk to everywhere.

Everything went without a hitch. A/C on when I arrived in the room. Comfortable with all facilities in room - safe, telephone, WIFI, hotel info, soap, hair dryer, shower cap etc. Shower very easy to work (always important). Got a single room, that was a small double. Bathroom very clean (two basins!). Door to room had a lock and a chain also. Plug sockets accommodated all European plugs, including UK - never seen that before.

If I were to mention an improvement it would be that the door from the lobby to the rooms was accessible to anyone and did not require opening with your key card. However, room security was very good, with both lock and chain.

Horror

Nothing It is the worst hotel I ever saw

The air conditioning was not working properly, did not made the room colder and when stopped it made terrible noises that made impossible to rest. Also it is very old and full of dust, not clean at all!!! The fridge was not working even if outside were 40 degrees. No pressure to the water to make a decent shower. The bathroom is big but not functional at all. Staff was very rude when I said which were the problems and they said that it is not true what I said. Also a very noisy hotel. I regret I have chosen this hotel, which destroyed my night and my health!!!! Please avoid it!!!!

Below average room to cost ratio

The location was great being so close to the train station. The staff was very welcoming and helpful.

For $170 a night, the room should have been more upgraded. It was very basic, no extras. Very dated decor. Needs a major update. Two tiny pillows on the bed and no decorative bedding. It was ok for the time we were there, but I wouldn’t stay there again.

A cozy and safe stay for solo traveller

I think the hotel is very charming and I am satisfied with the cleanliness of the room. The hotel staff’s hospitality is very helpful and great!

I’m not too sure if the hotel provide laundry/ironing service, however I wished the hotel have an iron for my clothes. (It’s a minor issue as I always bring a travel iron with me)

Astoria Hotel is close to everything in Geneva

It was hot in Geneva when I visited, so aircon in the room was very welcome! Good location near the train station and a short walk to the waterfront.

Very good hotel right in the center of Geneva

This is a very decent three star hotel right next to the main train station in a lively downtown area of Geneva. Very friendly reception staff, made me feel welcome and I could even check in earlier. The room was nice and clean, came with everything necessary, a desk, a little fridge, tv, wifi, a closet with a safe, comfortable bed and bedding.

Breakfast was not included but could be added for 17Chf in the bar next door.

Good location but will not return.

Location was great and the price was mid level for Geneva.

Room was very tired with tiny shower and glue around the sink plumbing as a temporary leak fix. Advertised as having air conditioning but it did not work at all. Just blew out room temperature air. We asked it to be fixed, were given an extra fan and told it would be fixed next day. However next morning we’re told the city law was that it could not be turned on until the city said it could. Walking around the city it was clear this was not true , as there was air conditioning in all the shops and other hotels we popped into. Disappointing that the hotel was not honest with us about its facilities . We had very little sleep over three days as the window had to stay open to have any cool air, and the noise from the street continued all night due to central location.

Love the staff and appreciate their consideration. The room was stuffy tho.

I absolutely LOVED the staff and the location. The gentleman who checked me in (because of the cleaning staff!) was so kind and let me have my room early which was so unexpected.

There needed to be a small fan to circulate air. The overhead fan was noisy and having the window open led to being awakened by noise below in the street.

Old but location is great!

Hotel is right next to the train station which is great. Room is comfortable and the bathroom is clean. The room feels old but for one night it is good and the price is the lowest among other properties in the area.

Room smells old but I expected it and got used to it.

Good location for short stay

The location across from the train station and a few minutes walk from the water was very convenient.

It was an older hotel and clean but a bit worn. My blinds did not work and the bathroom door wouldn’t stay open. The sink in the bathroom was tiny.

Comfortable and close to station

Outside Geneva station is pretty noisy so I was pleased to get a deluxe single facing out the back which was relatively peaceful and had the morning sun coming in. Reception staff were fine. The room and bed were comfy, with shower over bath. There is a mini fridge and kettle. Very convenient location for catching trams around the city. The Britannia pub downstairs had surprisingly tasty food, although if you want to sit inside you should really like football, it is blaring out from multiple TVs.

I have found Hotel Astoria is good choice to stay, if it matches one's budget.

The room's thermal system is top-notch! I hardly find such a sound conditioning system, and I must appraise it. The location is in the heart of Geneva, which should suit both tourists and working personnel.

The breakfast buffet has not been great. It has been simply ordinary in quality. For the price, one may have a better deal outside!

Great staff. Near the main train station. Right in the center. Tons of restaurant and food options nearby. Hotel lobby is open 24*7 and staffed. Breakfast was ok. Nothing special.

Bathroom toilet size is too small. Also lay off the Salt on breakfast eggs. Too much salt.

Perfect hotel in front of the train station

Basic but everything was there. For this price, in the heart of Geneva, that was a very pleasant surprise. I even had a balcony with a view of the cathedral!
