A Lovely Hotel but In Need of a Refurbishment

We stayed at this hotel in 2023 and fell in love with Rovinj so we decided to come back. For us the location is perfect right next to the national park and a nice walk to Old Town. The rooms are spacious and the view from our balcony was gorgeous. The breakfast buffet is good and the staff friendly and accommodating.

We felt this time around the property is looking tired and very much in need of a refurbishment. The garden at the front entrance has been ignored and is very untidy not giving a very good first impression. The carpet in our room was very sun damaged and the exterior of the property needs a clean. Last time we stayed at the hotel we had quality bed linen and towels. They now use polyester duvets on the beds and very uncomfortable lumpy polyester pillows. I understand some people have allergies but not everyone. It would be good if guests had a choice as everyone wants a good nights sleep. We have been travelling for some time now staying at similar standard hotels and they have all provided quality bed linen and are still using duck down duvets which are much more comfortable.

Wonderful hotel. In my opinion, this is the best hotel in Rovinj!

It is a beautiful well maintained hotel with excellent staff in a gorgeous setting. Breakfast was wonderful and well run. Adults only-very peaceful. Very clean room and hotel. Everyone there was extremely nice. Brought a rental car, valet was great, parking was super easy. Easy access to beach/beach chairs, and very nice pools.

The pool spa was not warm. Also, the outdoor hot tub was not hot. Beach is rocks, recommend shoes in the water.

Good luxury hotel option for a stay in Rovinj

Location is lovely although a fair walk into Rovinj. The hotel is comfortable and quiet and the staff are excellent throughout. Being part of the Maistra group means you can visit their other hotels and simply charge meals to your room. Rooms quiet and very spacious.

Property somehow lacks a little “wow factor”. It’s due a refurb which might address this. It’s certainly not a cheap option and The Grand Park has a more modern feel and a better location. The food - particularly in the bar, but also in the buffet really needs to be better for the price. Strangely, other hotels in the group seemed to be better.

Superb week i Rovinj

Fantastic week with a great location hotel. Breakfast superb. All the staff very friendly and professional. Recommend to try the restaurant Wine Vault. All the swimming pool, SPA, etc. are great.

Absolutely loved my stay

The hotel was stunning in an excellent location. Views at breakfast were lovely. The hotel was situated to have a stunning walk along the beach front into the old town. The pool area was lovely and peaceful and the staff around the pool were always on hand to help with towels and umbrellas.

If I were to say I disliked anything they would be minor things. The beach bar had a buzzer at your table for drinks but the pool didn’t. And I thought it would have been nice if you could get a drink in the late afternoon in the shade on the terrace outside the wine cellar. Not really things I don’t like just observations.

Amazing!

Staff is amazing, all of them, from cleaning lady, to the staff at the restaurant and all around the hotel. Breakfast was great, the waiters just the most professional ones, I was amazed! Pool was very nice, car, baggage: No trouble at all, just perfect. Everything was beautiful, loved it!

I found it weird that there weren't any eggs at the breakfast buffet, you had to order them a la carte. Selection of deserts was limited - I was expecting a bit more for a 5 star hotel. But, you can get amazing things in a la carte breakfast so, can't really say this was bad 😅 Also, was weirded out that someone else put a charge from the beach to our room, weird they are not checking so, maybe would be good to include some controls, but, they accepted it wasn't us so they removed it from the bill. The nerve on some people who do that 😳 it it is not the hotel's fault, they managed it professionally.

Really exceptional hotel just 15 mins walk from stunning Rovinj - best of both worlds

Everything! Location next to beautiful pebbly beach and 15 mins walk to stunning Rovinj with so many waterside restaurants. Huge rooms with all possible comforts. Excellent service everywhere. Fabulous breakfast until 12 noon with tables on the terrace overlooking the sea. Gorgeous pools with loungers (best to put your towel out early but it never feels busy and it’s all so peaceful). Valet parking included. Absolutely loved this hotel.

People should know that the decor is very contemporary (though not to my taste). It is not a “typical old European hotel” with beautiful classic features. This came as a shock to me initially. Also, it is located a good 20-minute walk to the old town of Rovinj, which is a bit far if you want to go more than once per day.

Real luxury experience

Perfect location, 10minutes walk to get to the old town. The hotel provides all you need. All rooms facing the beach, they are spacious clean with huge beds. Fantastic breakfast, staff are friendly and helpful. We will return for sure

Wonderful place to relax and enjoy your vacation

The staff was so friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home right away. The location of the hotel was perfect: the beach was just a few steps from the hotel, and the city center of Rovinj was only a 20-minute walk away. We also loved the view from our room, the pool area and the restaurant. Plus, the breakfast was delicious.

The closet was a bit small for two people for a stay of more than a week.

Supper in Mediterranean Restaurant was amazing. Location was fabulous Enjoyed hiring bikes to see more of the area. Excellent spa.

Too few sun loungers available for guests and not managed well ie. Guests are encouraged to put towels on them early in the day even if they don’t use them.

Amazing stay

Everything was wonderful, from the staff, to the room, to the food; even the little extra special touch of a cake and a bottle of Champagne left in my room as a birthday treat made the stay so much more special. This hotel is somewhere I have always wanted to stay, and it didn't disappoint

Monte Mulini exceeded my expectations that we extended our stay. From the beautiful hotel grounds and beach, exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms to all the amazing people that work there. From the moment we entered the hotel we were welcomed by portir Toni who with his professionalism and pleasant personality already made us feel so welcomed. His detailed explanation of our amenities and what we can expect from our stay was like a mini welcome tour that it made us extend another night as soon as we changed for dinner. Thank you Toni for such an amazing welcome your professionalism won't be forgotten! The twin sisters Ines & Nives kept our room spotless and impeccable which I couldn't say for many other hotels we stayed in throughout our trips. So thank you for making us feel comfortable! From all the wonderful people that work in the restaurant that made our breakfasts enjoyable to the people that work at the towel and bar services. Two other guys which we talked to the most were Damir & Aleksandar from the beach bar. They made our lounging on the beach and days very enjoyable with their professionalism and great energy. They kept our drinks coming and their professionalism at all times. Hotel Monte Mulini is truly a beautiful hotel and worth every dollar. If you expect good value and a high standard food,experience and professionalism from high end hotels you should definitely stay at Hotel Monte Mulini. I will recommend and will definitely come back again. Thank you to everyone for the beautiful experience we had during our stay.

A great all round experience - our 5th visit

Service at breakfast if you’re in the dining room. Service on the terrace is more focused or perhaps the only morning we breakfasted in the dining room and not the terrace was exceptionally busy - either way service that morning should have been much better Biggest dislike which might put us off from ever returning is Maistra’s 16+ age policy from 2023 at the MM. We were going to take the family and grandchildren to the Monte Mulini again next year as we have done previously - but not possible now. Time with the family more important than anything else relating any hotel policy no matter how good the hotel is - very, very disappointing since there will be many families being unable to return for a good while Somewhere else will now get our business.

Best Holiday ever,will come back for sure

The room has a nice location ( close to the hotel,in another building where siuts are ),spectacular views from both balcony and it was extreamly quiet. We had 2 clean and spacious bathrooms,fully equipped with Molton Brown toaletteries, two rooms with acces to the terrace. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Two small , but well equipped kitchen with kettle and coffee machine ( tablettes as well ) and two small fridge ( enough for a bottle of wine:). We vere very satisfied with the room. The breakfast was excellent,we liked Restaurand Mediterranian,we had 3 dinners there as well The staff is amaizing! Polite,kind and helpful. Not only a few of them, all of them. Pool area is clean,service,pool bar is perfect. We were very happy to picked Hotel Monte Mulini! We will come back for sure. Last years we stayed in Hotel Lone,which was fantastic,but for our taste it was far away from Mulini.

Maybe some animation would be nice,even for adults beside the pool..Not a must. Cannot tell more,everything was fantastic!

Beautiful hotel in excellent quiet location and great facilities and staff.

Excellent location a short walk into the town or alternatively a beautiful walk round the headland. The food was excellent as were the staff who were genuinely friendly. There were a number of different areas with good sun beds by the pool and beach. The hotel was quiet and relaxing.
