Once built as a private mansion in 1869 and later in the hands of bankers, this magnificent 19th-century classical building has been renovated and converted into the Relais & Châteaux Hotel Heritage.

In short for the Value ratio I will choose another stay if I came back to Brugge.

On the positive side, the hotel was very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the location is excellent, right in the heart of the city. Also nice decorations within the festive season. The reception staff were kind and welcoming, which made check-in pleasant.

Considering the hotel’s Relais & Châteaux affiliation and the high room rate, the overall experience did not fully meet expectations. Certain areas of the property feel in need of renovation ( bathrooms particularly) , and the stay lacked the small thoughtful touches one would normally expect at this price point. There were no complimentary amenities in the room, and everything was offered at an additional cost. In comparison, other hotels in a similar price range I have stayed always offered a welcome drink or a small gesture from the house. Breakfast was another area where the experience could be improved. Although breakfast was not included , we still wanted to order a few items from the menu of our choice. Instead, the offering felt quite rigid, with a set structure that encouraged ordering additional items such as pastries, juice, and coffee. Despite clearly mentioning that I did not want coffee, it was still offered ( probably that was the standard set up for 2 persons, I guess) leading to a breakfast bill of around €70 which felt excessive and poorly explained. On top of that, the service also felt uncomfortable, as the waiter came across as somewhat snobbish and uninterested.

Lovely Hotel

Perfect location for visiting Brugge.

Location was perfect for touring Brugge. Small boutique hotel with pretty restaurant and nice intimate bar area. Staff felt overwhelmed on a couple of occasions (possibly understaffed) but they made up for it in service once you got their attention.

Beyond Amazing Hotel

The staff at this hotel was EXCELLENT! The room was beyond comfortable. I am not a late sleeper, but the bed was so comfortable I slept till 10 a.m.! You can not bet the location it is located one block from the main square. This hotel would be perfect if you were attending Brugges Christmas. Definitely will stay here again.

They treat you like royalty in this beautiful fairytale village.

This hotel is hands down the best! The staff goes above and beyond in every task. We were blessed to stay here for our 35th anniversary. We wish we could have stayed longer. It is a couple blocks from the Market Square and there is a bike rental next door, so you may do some sightseeing. The room is gorgeous and the dining area was so elegant. They offer a turn down service, which I absolutely would encourage, as they put Belgium chocolates on your pillow. Absolutely love the Relais & Chateaux Hotel Heritage in every aspect.

Great hotel to visit Bruges! The hotel is exceptional, nothing to complain about. Highly recommend to spend a few days in the city. Basically everything is within walking distance. The hotel itself is lovely and has a great atmosphere.

Five star hotel lives up to its rating with exceptional staff

We were greeted so well on arrival and the service was maintained throughout. Dinner at the Restaurant was excellent. This is a superior property.

The bathroom is a little cramped and the light could be better.

Decor needs updating but not to lose the character of the building.

Unfortunately the air-conditioning didn't work and the door handle feel off in my hand. Carpet in our room could do with a new one. Spent 3 days and the staff were fantastic 👏 more then helpful just a bit let down with the things I mentioned.

The staff on reception were wonderful but the hotel definitely needs a major renovation.

The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel to be frank needs some updating as the bathrooms and rooms are a bit tired. Also the beds are uncomfortable and could do with changing altogether. The air conditioning is very weak and though the staff were good enough to place a fan in the room it’s not something you expect from a hotel with a high star rating. The location while central and convenient also has one drawback - groups of drunks screaming all night at the weekend. On the Friday we headed back drunks were screaming and yelling outside all night, even when we were getting in the taxi to go to the airport at five AM. I know it’s something the hotel can do little about but it might be a good idea to install sound proof windows if they were able to in a future upgrade.

a brilliant location to enjoy Brugge

fabulous location super friendly staff and very comfortable bed. great breakfast as well.

my only criticism is you had to be in the shower to turn it on. the first time it had been left on freezing cold the next morning it has been left on boiling hot. obviously left like this after cleaning the room
