Area nice although well out of Split

Hotel good with good position on the beach clean and fairly modern

Owner would only speak german to you we did not understand a word which was very difficult at time when asking specific questions. Restaurant only opened on the first night. Bacon was offered with eggs and scrambled eggs the first day. Thereafter we saw no bacon at all and was too difficult to request.

Nice Friendly Helpfull Staff

Beach is in front of the hotel. Sunbeds are included in price. Very good breakfast. You can eat your breakfast on the terrace with nice view on the sea. Very helpfull, nice and friendly staff.

A little bit problem with parking, because there is only small private parking lot. The bed could be bigger.

We liked the hotel because it is directly on the beach, good parking place, the kindness of the cleaning lady and the good ice cream. You could walk to the nearby restaurants where you could find everything to eat, nearby there is a small supermarket. Lovely sunset Thank you 🤗

The family room didn't have a balcony, and at night you could hear the road and the air conditioning was a bit confusing.

Great location with some drawbacks

• We booked a room without a balcony but were pleasantly surprised to receive one with a balcony. • The hotel is in a fantastic location, right next to the beach – just down the stairs and you are there. • The sea view from our room was absolutely beautiful. • The restaurant staff were very kind and helpful.

Parking was problematic. Cars are parked in rows, so if you are blocked, reception has to call the car owner. Even though I confirmed parking in advance, we were woken up and asked to move our van in an unpleasant way. • To get a free sunbed and umbrella, you need to go to the beach around 7 a.m. • The hotel restaurant was disappointing: prices were high compared to the quality and portion sizes. • Breakfast was very modest with limited choice. • There was no kettle in the room.

FRAUDULENT LISTING - FACILITIES ETC LISTED ARE NOT WHAT YOU GET

Location was good. Two great restaurants either side in shortwalking distance. Restaurant Amigo and restaurant Jure. The cleaner Sylvia was a great help and she was the only one.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY - DISGUSTING The accommodation was not a hotel as listed on booking.com. The owner spoke no English, was rude, never at reception (even though the property is listed as having 24hr reception), she only spoke German or Croatian, used her uncovered hands to fill up bread dish at breakfast. The property was listed as having air-conditioning in rooms, toiletries. I complained to the owner and asked where the air-conditioning was and her reply in hand gestures and pointing to window said open window and door. No air-conditioning. Toiletries are apparently a welcome gift only. The property lists a wellness centre, fitness room at the property. Nothing like what is listed, a real joke. There was a treadmill but it didnt work. The listing for this property appears to be fraudulent in what is listed on booking.com and what is provided at the property. People are paying for accommodation and go off the listing's and your not getting what you paid for.

Hotel Sunce 🙂🙃

The location in Podstrana was good. Easy and cheap bus ride into Split. The back of the Hotel is right on the Esplanade. Our cleaner and the cook/chef were friendly, very efficient & spoke excellent English!

The German owner "didn't speak any English", but the A-board sign on the beach, requesting guests to put sunbeds/parasols away was in English. Apart from 3 x other guests we were the only English staying at the Hotel, other guests were predominantly German! By the end of my stay I was suffering from back pain due to the weight of lifting/lowering and dragging the heavy sunbeds across the beach. With the exception of breakfast the Dining Room was closed so we went out for Dinner every evening. The snack bar (beach fronted) didn't open until my 8th day stay and was very limited. I was served the worst Aperol Spritzer ever and at €9 the Hotel owner needs to go back to bartending school. The swimming pool shallow end is so shallow you cannot help but scrape your knees on the bottom. This made it impossible to swim lengths or circuits. Some panels around the enclosed pool remained open 24/7 which raises some health and safety issues, such as tripping/falling and very worst of all drowning as the route around the pool is constantly used by guests on their way down to the pool. The walk through the unused Spa area/"Gym" is tired/shabby with dirty towels on the floor to walk on that weren't ever changed. This area was also very poorly lit making it somewhat of a health and safety hazard too! The car park is very small so everyone had to double park etc making it inconvenient at times. I would say the Hotel Sunce is seriously understaffed and it would be lovely if the German Owner would learn just a couple of words of English just to make her English guests feel welcome! Danke schön!! 😊

It was a good stay but could have been much better

Location and access to beach

The AC didn’t work, it was too hot. Breakfast was limited. Wi-Fi and fridge in the room didn’t work as well. Since the AC’s were not working it was suffocating in the room and no fan provided. The owner was a bit too much, she had too many rules. She was constantly watching over her guests in a weird way which was limiting in terms of using any facilities. The location and access to beach was a plus and that was the best about this facility.

The location: perfect, in front of the beach. The beach: great, white pebbles, water transparent. Great beach chairs and umbrellas, at no additional cost. The area: very nice and tidy, nice properties all around. The breakfast was plentiful, with a great buffet.

Clean, modern hotel right on the beach!

Super clean and new hotel right on its own section of the beach. Nice little buffet breakfast available each morning. We had a balcony with a fabulous view and which was large enough to get comfortable. The woman who runs the place is very nice.

Maybe it's temporary, but all the hotels in this town suffer from the traffic jams back and forth to Split.

It was beach front and the view was good.

1. This is not a hotel. This is a house, that underwent some renovation to pass as a hotel to some extent. 2. The owner, an old lady that only speaks German to you, no English, and apparently rarely Croatian (even tho you tell her you understand Croatian). 3. There are barely any employees. It's just her, and she is anything buy helpful. There another girl that's sometimes there but mostly isn't. 4. Parking is a major issue since it's just a yard of the house, and as such, there is not enough capacity in accordance to room capacity in the so called "hotel". Basically you park and block someone and leave your number to the old woman in case someone wants to move his car in which case you'll be called to repark. 5. Same capacity issue with the sunbeds. Rarely available. 6. Breakfast is a joke. 7. The terrace, unlike what you pictures show, are actually split into thirds so they can jam as many people as they can per floor in this makeshift joke of a hotel. 8. Owner lies when you ask if there are exchange offices nearby and instead offers to exchange for you, while taking 20% commission (there's an exchange 5 min by foot away). 9. There is NO GYM. Just one treadmill and a bike jammed next to each other in a corner. 10. Barely any cleaning. They threw the trash out twice perhaps in 5 days. 11. Night time the owner sits in the yard or terrace and is loud enough to disturb guests. The guests are the only ones respecting the house rules. 12. They have a beach bar/restaurant type of thing downstairs. it's ridiculous. 100 euros for an octopus salad (which is basically some greens and canned octopus) , a plate of sea food (miserable) and prosecco that you wait for for half an hour since they send the waiter to the store to get it and then charge you restaurant prices for it. Too many others to name, but I'll leave it at these ones . And also , I got called for work two days before the vacation was over.

Miro is a fantastic hostess. The staff is friendly and helpful. The boys (Hrvoje and Filip) are students and learning the trade and are exceptionally polite and attentive. The location on the adriatic is great with easy access to Split.

The location. First beach line.

The staff didn't speak a word of English. The equipment of the hotel was very poor quality, considering the price and the description at the web. No fitness center, just a running band. A tiny swimming pool. The food quality very poor.

Beautiful and relaxing

The staff was very friendly, it felt like a family. The room was comfortable, including the bed. The AC in the room was effective. The sea view from the balcony was amazing :-) . It was very helpful that the hotel had its own private beach, which meant that we did not have to pay for the beach beds. The food in the beach bar was okay. Would be great, if they would have a larger selection.

If we went to have breakfast towards the end of the serving time (Close to 10 am) we only had the leftovers. The parking place of the hotel is not planned for the number of rooms they have. At times, we had to wait 30 minutes for the car that was blocking ours to move their car. But these were minor things compared to the great time we had there.

Great value for amazing place

This hotel was absolutely perfect location. The breakfast was delicious, Mira and her staff her so kind and welcoming. the views were amazing and we were right on the beach. We were also very close to many restaurants and the local store if we needed anything. you will need to bring shampoo/conditioner and body wash for after the first day but honestly every hotel in Europe is that way so we were prepared. The value for where we stayed was amazing and our group of 8 was highly happy with everything! we will absolutely stay there again!

Poor Hotel

The location, the hotel is literally on the beach which is a beautiful spot.

I must apologise for what will be a long but truthful list of problems with this hotel. I will start with our check in. The receptionist spoke very little English and we didn't really understand much she said. We were shown our room and felt rushed. The rooms are tiny, balcony is ok. Shower room and toilet also tiny. Maid service is every 2 days which is ok. The hotel facilities were closed which we found very frustrating, the beach bar was self service for a limited selection of soft drinks and one brand of beer. No wine etc. The booklet in the room clearly stated breakfast was from 7. We had a fantastic boat trip booked and our cab was due to arrive at 7.30, so we popped down at 7 and were told to yo away by the owner. This is really what let the hotel down, the lady who runs the place was really very stressed and as such was rude to us alot. And other guests. We were shouted at for asking for a coffee and literally shushed away at 7. Apparently breakfast starts at 8 but like I said, the room information booklet says 7. Then we were told to pay the night before check out, disturbed on the beach a number of times so the owner could check up on how many drinks we had had, basically accusing us of stealing drinks. If the hotel was actually staffed during the day, it would avoid the whole self service fiasco. After we settled up our bill for drinks and the accommodation (a day early because the owner said she didnt want to get up at 7.30 on a Sunday) we grabbed 2 more soft drinks and told the owner. That night she came knocking on our door and ringing the room at 11pm demanding the £4 for the water. She refused to let me leave the cash by reception in the morning and I had yo go down to pay her in my PJs. Hilarious but so so terrible all at the same time. This hotel should not have allowed us to stay as it literally was not open other than we got breakfast, which was also very poor.
