Area nice although well out of Split
Hotel good with good position on the beach clean and fairly modern
Owner would only speak german to you we did not understand a word which was very difficult at time when asking specific questions. Restaurant only opened on the first night. Bacon was offered with eggs and scrambled eggs the first day. Thereafter we saw no bacon at all and was too difficult to request.

Nice Friendly Helpfull Staff
Beach is in front of the hotel. Sunbeds are included in price. Very good breakfast. You can eat your breakfast on the terrace with nice view on the sea. Very helpfull, nice and friendly staff.
A little bit problem with parking, because there is only small private parking lot. The bed could be bigger.

Family review
We liked the hotel because it is directly on the beach, good parking place, the kindness of the cleaning lady and the good ice cream. You could walk to the nearby restaurants where you could find everything to eat, nearby there is a small supermarket. Lovely sunset Thank you 🤗
The family room didn't have a balcony, and at night you could hear the road and the air conditioning was a bit confusing.

Great location with some drawbacks
• We booked a room without a balcony but were pleasantly surprised to receive one with a balcony. • The hotel is in a fantastic location, right next to the beach – just down the stairs and you are there. • The sea view from our room was absolutely beautiful. • The restaurant staff were very kind and helpful.
Parking was problematic. Cars are parked in rows, so if you are blocked, reception has to call the car owner. Even though I confirmed parking in advance, we were woken up and asked to move our van in an unpleasant way. • To get a free sunbed and umbrella, you need to go to the beach around 7 a.m. • The hotel restaurant was disappointing: prices were high compared to the quality and portion sizes. • Breakfast was very modest with limited choice. • There was no kettle in the room.

FRAUDULENT LISTING - FACILITIES ETC LISTED ARE NOT WHAT YOU GET
Location was good. Two great restaurants either side in shortwalking distance. Restaurant Amigo and restaurant Jure. The cleaner Sylvia was a great help and she was the only one.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY - DISGUSTING The accommodation was not a hotel as listed on booking.com. The owner spoke no English, was rude, never at reception (even though the property is listed as having 24hr reception), she only spoke German or Croatian, used her uncovered hands to fill up bread dish at breakfast. The property was listed as having air-conditioning in rooms, toiletries. I complained to the owner and asked where the air-conditioning was and her reply in hand gestures and pointing to window said open window and door. No air-conditioning. Toiletries are apparently a welcome gift only. The property lists a wellness centre, fitness room at the property. Nothing like what is listed, a real joke. There was a treadmill but it didnt work. The listing for this property appears to be fraudulent in what is listed on booking.com and what is provided at the property. People are paying for accommodation and go off the listing's and your not getting what you paid for.

Hotel Sunce 🙂🙃
The location in Podstrana was good. Easy and cheap bus ride into Split. The back of the Hotel is right on the Esplanade. Our cleaner and the cook/chef were friendly, very efficient & spoke excellent English!
The German owner "didn't speak any English", but the A-board sign on the beach, requesting guests to put sunbeds/parasols away was in English. Apart from 3 x other guests we were the only English staying at the Hotel, other guests were predominantly German! By the end of my stay I was suffering from back pain due to the weight of lifting/lowering and dragging the heavy sunbeds across the beach. With the exception of breakfast the Dining Room was closed so we went out for Dinner every evening. The snack bar (beach fronted) didn't open until my 8th day stay and was very limited. I was served the worst Aperol Spritzer ever and at €9 the Hotel owner needs to go back to bartending school. The swimming pool shallow end is so shallow you cannot help but scrape your knees on the bottom. This made it impossible to swim lengths or circuits. Some panels around the enclosed pool remained open 24/7 which raises some health and safety issues, such as tripping/falling and very worst of all drowning as the route around the pool is constantly used by guests on their way down to the pool. The walk through the unused Spa area/"Gym" is tired/shabby with dirty towels on the floor to walk on that weren't ever changed. This area was also very poorly lit making it somewhat of a health and safety hazard too! The car park is very small so everyone had to double park etc making it inconvenient at times. I would say the Hotel Sunce is seriously understaffed and it would be lovely if the German Owner would learn just a couple of words of English just to make her English guests feel welcome! Danke schön!! 😊
