Welcoming, safe, good value the staff are fantastic and the food and wine is excellent

Loved the people, staff were very professional and felt very safe on site. The location is stunning to view, and the food was the best we had in Stellenbosch.

The pool was a little dirty. The sides need cleaning. I think they had the filter system on in the evening, but obviously sun cream in the day makes the water murky. There was mould growing below the waterline on the sides, which needs to be scrubbed off, and can be done while full of water, which the skimmers will remove in the evening. I was on the ground floor, and every day little worms/caterpillars entered the room, quite a lot. I found out they are harmless, but the cleaner should hover every day, not just when asked. e.g. a dead fly on the carpet in the morning was still there after cleaning in the evening.

We had a fantastic stay! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the food, room, and comfort were all excellent. The setting is beautiful, and I loved being able to walk safely around the vineyards for a good hour’s hike. We were very well looked after, even with last-minute extra nights. Truly an exceptional experience!

The rooms were huge and very well appointed with some very nice touches like a complimentary bottle of wine on top. Great views from the rooms and throughout the hotel. The food in the restaurant was delicious. Our waiter, Ricardo, was superb with some great suggestions. There was a large choice for breakfast and a very nice setting on the terrace overlooking the lake although the service was a bit slow.

A well-priced stay for a very spacious room

Pretty and convenient Winelands location. The room and ensuite bathroom were both very spacious and had a view over the dam/lake. We appreciated the glass of wine on arrival and bottle in the room - both were nice touches.

Some more casual dining options in the evening would have been appreciated. The main restaurant is quite pricey and doesn’t really cater for a more relaxed meal, so we ended up going offsite for dinner. The wine tasting room does offer lighter fare such as burgers, but only until late afternoon, which feels like a missed opportunity for guests staying overnight. We visited in winter, and it seemed that some of the usual offerings weren’t available, which is understandable, but it did make the experience feel a bit subdued. I imagine the venue would be far more enjoyable in summer, when there’s more atmosphere and energy. During our stay, it all felt a little quiet and dreary. Facilities are a little outdated style-wise compared to other estates in the area.

The hotel is very beautiful and comfortable. The room is large with a beautiful view of the winery. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was delicious.

We had a problem with the hot water at night. There wasn't enough hot water to fill the bathtub. Since it was late and we were tired, we ended up not notifying the staff.

The art was magnificent, the service was excellent.

Everything was great, unfortunately one of our members had the rump special that was really not up to standard. The staff was notified and we received a complimentary bottle of wine which we really appreciated.

I would not hesitate to return to this incredible gem

Asara completely exceeded my expectations. Everything was impeccable from the room to the food but what really stood out for me is how incredibly friendly and highly trained the staff are. Their attention to details was astonishing. The room was large, beautifully appointed and spotlessly clear. The breakfast was fresh, nutritious and absolutely delicious. I was truly blown away by this lovely place, and all at such a reasonable price. I would love to return with my family and enjoy a few days there.

ASARA went far beyond our expectations to make our special day and birthday celebration truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived—with our bags collected from the car, a welcome glass of wine, and warm towels to refresh our hands to every thoughtful detail throughout our stay, the experience was flawless. The restaurant setup, romantic turndown, and the indulgent massage all added to the magic. The staff were exceptional attentive, warm, and genuinely dedicated to making everything perfect. Even at check-out, they personally took our bags to the car. Every moment felt cared for and magnificent. ASARA truly creates memories that last a lifetime!

The only small drawback was that the spa isn’t in-house; they only offer outsourced services, which are somewhat limited. We would have loved the option to relax in a jacuzzi or sauna on-site.

The room was nice a big very neat as per the picture used online. the view was amazing, restaurants very good liked the breakfast harvest and the balcony view at the restaurants, please provide us with bigger television screens next time we like movies. and some infor about the Spa booking i really needed the Spa but did not know if it was not part of Asara. Thank you but the experience was lovely.

Everything about this place is top notch. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was huge and very comfortable. The views from our room were incredible! Breakfast was amazing and included with the room. It was so quiet and peaceful. Reasonably close to Stellenbosch. I would 100% return!
