Wow. Just wow! Charm, elegance, history, and really neat engineering! Plus the best gazpacho I have ever had in my life.

Not much!

A simply stunning property. An absolutely beautiful setting, cradled by the Umia River with gorgeous flowers, plants, trees, and birds all around. The pool is spectacular, blending into the natural river setting. Rooms are charming and beautifully furnished. Throughout the property there are private sitting areas for quiet reflection or conversation. The restaurant is also excellent - very good wines, fresh bread, delicious entrees. Try the cod or the spaghetti with garlic shrimp. While all these features make for an absolutely delightful, one of a kind stay, what truly elevates this hotel into the realm of heavenly is the staff. Never before have we experienced such gracious, kind, attentive and helpful staff. We can’t wait to return to this exceptional hotel!

There is absolutely nothing not to like.

The Location is fantastic.

No Air Conditioning, very uncomfortable in summer. Food is below average for what would be expected at such a location. Deserts come in glass jars purchased elsewhere. No bar. To get a drink or food you must make a phone call. No receptionist, this role is shared by any member of staff. Expensive for what you get.
