Checking in was a faff as hadn’t received the email but the lady in the restaurant was very helpful

The room was decent with facilities such as a coffee machine, and a kettle. Check-in and check-out were all digital, which is quite useful considering there is no separate reception. The room has a lovely canal view, which is really nice. The property is very close to everything; boat ride options, bus stop, supermarket, restaurants. The breakfast had good variations with freshly baked bakery items, fruits.

In absence of reception, if any information is required you have go to the restaurant alongside the property. Beyond the restaurant hour, it appears to be difficult. The main entrance has a motion-sensored sliding door, but it doesn't have any code, thus security seems a concern to me. The shower area lacks a curtain or panel, leading to significant water spillage across the bathroom floor.

Breakfast is decent enough, although the scrambled eggs tasted weird. Poffertjes and croissants were nice. And the restaurant is a nice place to have breakfast.

Price! I get that you pay for the location as in being directly in Giethoorn, but the room was definitely not worth the money we paid for it. Rooms are small and the mattresses did not have a lot of support. Very noisy. We could hear everything what was happening in the adjacent rooms. And I mean everything. My advice, visit Giethoorn as a day trip. You don’t need an hotel. Giethoorn is a very small village en you can see everything within the day. Then you don’t have to pay €175 for a night for a €75 room.
