About this cottage rental
1930's remodeled 2 bedroom, 1 bath beach cottage. Sleeps 6. Two twin beds, one queen and a queen size hide-a-bed. Dishwasher, washer and dryer. Views of the river from most windows. 2 hours from Baltimore and 1 1/2 hrs from Washington DC, this locations offers the opportunity for many natural and cultural experiences. Located near the first capital of Maryland, St. Mary's city, historic Colonial and Civil War sites and memorial, and the United States Naval Test Center, St. Mary's county offers something for everyone. This is an excellent sandy beach for SUP and kayaks. Fish off the beach or paddle out into the river. Local marinas offer boat launching facilities. A list of near by restaurants, markets, shops, hiking trails and museums are provided.

Once again we had a great time and I would highly recommend it. Beautiful views, swimming, kayaking, croquet, and other games and puzzles in the cabin were great for the whole family. The only complaint is that the bathroom door had to be jammed closed and didn't have a lock.

We love staying here! The house is perfect for our family, and being right on the water is dreamy. The house is comfortable and tastefully decorated. The kitchen has what we needed, as we like to cook. The local vibe is so chill, and we love getting crabcakes at Chiefs! The neighborhood is super friendly and quiet. The hosts are always so hospitable and generous and helpful.

We came for the NAS airshow and stayed for the beach :) As anyone who has ever been to an airshow knows, the trips into and out of the bases are long, arduous experiences. The proximity of the beach cottage to the NAS made this father's day weekend an awesome mini vacation, instead of "just" a great airshow. Laurie was very responsive, supportive, and helpful in her communications. The cottage was clean with everything you ever need in a weekend stay. Our son played on the beach until sunset and then caught fireflies in the front yard. In the morning, he was in the hammock as he waited for us to finish getting ready. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and peaceful. We even took the kayaks out for a bit. The crabs weren't quite out there just yet... maybe next time!
