About this house rental
Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway; peaceful and in a quiet neighborhood along Mill Creek in the Drum Point community. Beach access is provided to the Drum Point community private beach. Nice view of Mill Creek from the kitchen and living room and back deck. An A-Frame style house with three levels; three bedrooms with 2 king beds and 1 queen bed. Additional sleeping spots can be accommodated using the couch and air mattresses upon request.
This is an open A-Frame style house with floor to ceiling windows on the back providing full view of Mill Creek behind the house.
The main bedroom is on the main floor with the bathroom directly across the hall. It has a king size bed.
Upstairs there's a loft bedroom with a half bathroom and claw foot tub. It has a king size bed.
Downstairs in the basement is the third bedroom with a queen bed and full private bathroom. Also in the basement are two sun rooms.
Note: There is a private pier and boat house, but currently it's not easy to get down there as there was some erosion that took out the stairs from the deck going down to the water. We're in the process of repairing and rebuilding; currently tied up in the government permit process. We've discounted prices until the new stairs are rebuilt after which the prices will increase with that amenity available again. We do provide you with a beach access hangtag to use the private community Drum Point beach and boat ramp just a mile or two down the road.
You may also notice a hot tub on the side of the lower deck that we will put back into operation once the rebuilding of the stairs and repairs to the deck are completed.

The property is very old and in need of updates, but it served our needs as a place to sleep whilst we were at a regatta. The kitchen is lacking in any spices/ olive oil etc or any serving dishes. The furniture is clearly tired and old needs to be replaced. The plastic dishes in the kitchen are nasty and also need throwing away. However, the environment was cool during such hot weather and the fans and lights were on to welcome our arrival.

The house was very clean and as advertised. The location to all that we wanted to do— fossil hunting, museums, ice cream was very convenient. The coffee and waters were appreciated. We liked the amount of closets and hooks in the house to keep us organized. The king beds were nice, but the pillows were awfully flat. Everything in the house feels very used, outdated and ready to break or already broken. When we were there the was a problem with the HVAC system that the owners were aware of that was addressed by window units and fans. The amount of noise to cool the house was obnoxious. The entire backyard, and lower patio were off-limits as was explained in the listing. I did not realize this meant the basement doors were deadbolted and locked with a key we did not have, so there was no emergency escape for my child sleeping in the basement. We luckily did not have an emergency, but this felt unsafe. The house is fine for sleeping, but not nice enough that you want to hang out in it. The back porch is a great asset, but it was so hot during our stay that we couldn’t hang out there. We wished there was a shade for the canopy so we could have eaten dinner or played games outside.

The home was clean and comfortable inside. The outside was in need of all kinds of attention. The deck and railings were very dirty and should have been power washed. The weeds and grass around the driveway should have been removed as not to attract snakes since we saw two right at the deck and snake skins all around. The top step in the side needs to be replaced as it is rotten and a safety hazard. The stays to the boat dock needs major repair and the area cleaned of trees and bushes. I am saying this because though we enjoyed in the house we didn’t go on vacation to stay in the house. We would have loved to enjoy the deck and water views and have been able to go to the boat dock. For all the things listed the property was not well maintained outside and therefore should have been priced much lower.
