Great location for exploring the Rhinog Mountains

Y Becws is a really quiet and peaceful place to stay, and is a great location for exploring the Rhinog Mountains. The views to the Lleyn Peninsula were wonderful and we were lucky with the weather so were able to sit out in the evening sunshine to enjoy the view most nights.

One of the most perfect holiday cottages we have stayed at.

Excellent quiet location central to the best of North Wales attractions and sites. Beautiful little cottage with a stunning view over the coast and Llyn Peninsula. Very well maintained and presented throughout. Will definitely be returning. The host was very welcoming and the sunsets were amazing!

The cottage and surroundings are beautiful. Sadly, it is let down by the owners.

The cottage itself was very comfortable to spend a week relaxing in and the surrounding area was extremely peaceful if a break from everything is what you want for a holiday.

The hosts, sadly, were not exactly friendly or approachable. In fact, the only time we saw the wife was for 5 minutes when we arrived to tell us how to use the shower and the fire. Other than that, we did not see hide nor hair from her for the week-lomg duration of our stay. As for the husband, twice we said hello to him and he completely blanked us on both occasions. Not exactly sure what "guests will always receive a warm Welsh welcome from the Williams family" is supposed to mean on their website, but for sure we sadly did not receive anything such like. It's as though they are more than happy to take your hard-earned money and then genuinely could not care less about wether you have a nice stay or not. A simple "Is everything OK with the accomodation...?", or, "How was your stay...?", would suffice, but even when we left there was no-one there to bother asking if we enjoyed our holiday. We simply left the key in the door, looked around, saw nobody and left... speechless. Although, it was clearly noticeable that most of the village folk seem this way to be honest, rude, blank-faced and un-interested. Maybe they simply do not like English people, and, if this is the case, then it's time to move into the 21st century and appreciate the fact that it is THEIR accommodation out of thousands all across Wales that guests have chosen to stay at. On a final note, yes, it is nice to have dogs and other animals around the cottage, however, what is not-so-nice is waking up to fresh piles of dog muck outside the front door every morning that we needed to clean up before standing in it. Nor is having the dogs urinate on our belongings outside the cottage. But then, at least we conversed more with the animals (and saw more of) than the actual owners I suppose.
