Great location for village and hill walks.

Cottage was well equipped and close to village via a path across the fields. Great views of hills.

Both double beds were too soft.

Great location, lovely and quiet but only 10 minutes walk from Hawes.

Great location, lovely and quiet but only 10 minutes from Hawes, around 5 minutes from the Dairy. Bedrooms were spacious, with huge double bed in upper bedroom and house did not feel crowded with 6 of us there. Views out of the back door / garden areas up towards Buttertubs Pass are fantastic.

Parking really only possible outside property if you have a small car. There is parking 5 mins away in a car park next to the river, or on main road when it is not busy. In summer it might not be that easy to park close to property. But that is the price of staying in a small dales village like Gayle, housing designed and built before cars became popular.

Plus and minuses

Location was fantastic 👌 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are a plus. Neighbours very friendly 10 min walk into hawes. Kitchen has big fridge and dishwasher Netflix and sky a bonus showers nice and powerful. Cosy feel to the property views out the window are amazing the heart of Yorkshire through you window.

A bit disappointed that the cleaners had not finished on our arrival as we really wanted to put our fresh food etc in the fridge. We had given a time on our form and we ended up going into hawes as they stated it would be another 40mins so they allowed us to put food away and leave our bags as you cant leave your car outside. There was a damp smell in the livingroom as one of the walls next to the door leading to the garden was wet and giving off a nasty smell. The sinks upstairs took ages to clear in the bathrooms..Boiler in the double bedroom cupboard was really noisy so take ear plugs as it runs on and off through the night. Take toilet rolls as only 1 in each bathroom provided. Grey bin was full so we struggled...I had to catch 3 spiders in the livingroom that had clearly been there for weeks as thick cobwebs. Just felt like cleaning could have been better and a little rushed as check out is 10am and we arrived just before 4pm.

our group of 5 really enjoyed the rural location of the cottage with easy access to the town of Hawes - 5 mins walk. we

a typical cottage style property in the dales with very comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchen and enough seating for a group of 5.

no parking at the property which we were aware of but was able to park just around the corner after unpacking. top bedroom which is beautiful but the plug in sink needs looking at.

Lovely, and exactly as advertised: Would recommend.

Hired this cottage for a week with friends for a week cycling round the dales. It was almost exactly what we expected, and in particular the online photos were particularly accurate and fair, although if anything the patio was smaller than expected.
