The guest house is just beautiful and beautifully situated in the mountains around the Douro River, way above Pinhao. Views were amazing, room was palatial, and the dinner and wine offering was very, very generous. The pool was an added bonus in hot weather!
There was no communication from the host prior to our arrival, despite several messages sent via different methods, so we had no idea whether dinner would be available to us, and, without a car, no way of getting anywhere else for dinner. We caught taxis to and from the guesthouse, but it is quite remote from Pinhao. But a very lovely place when you got there.

Everything was perfect! From the moment we arrived, welcoming us with a glass of port. The room was fantastic, enormous and comfortable. Relaxing by the pool on a hot summer day. Dinner in the evening with all the guests at the same table, with plenty of wine to go around, sharing stories.
It was my birthday, we stayed up with part of the group and the host Miguel poured each of us a glass at midnight for everyone to cheer. A truly unforgettable stay!
