Beautiful house right at the beach

We had some issues with this rental, so here are the pros and cons for us:PROS: Unbeatable views of both sunrises and sunsets; great location for birding being just minutes away from Magee Marsh, Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, etc.; house was very clean; lots of towels and pillows; check in was easy and wifi was strong.CONS: The front door lock is extremely finicky; when the wind blows the waves on the lake are very loud; HVAC in downstairs bedroom is very loud and when it was hot in that bedroom it was cold upstairs; when it rains there is a constant, loud dripping noise (separate from sound of rain falling) audible in the downstairs bedroom (downspout out of alignment?); the downstairs showers are built for very thin, short people so if you are over 5'7", you will struggle; there is a microwave in the kitchen, but the dishes are marked "not for use in microwave" so we had to microwave food in the one big Pyrex mixing bowl or in the coffee mugs; biggest issue of all for us was that the bed in the downstairs bedroom is a "short queen" or "RV queen" which is 5" shorter than a normal queen (it has to be that size in that tiny room because otherwise you would not be able to walk around it) and the mattress on that short bed has seen better days - it was creaky and noisy and slumped toward the middle, although that improved when we took off the sheets and rotated the mattress.Overall, not a great choice for anyone who is tall and/or a light sleeper!

Beautiful and very clean, loaded with beach towels, pots and pans, lots of dishes and a great washer and dryer….. had a book with lots of info…. Would definitely rent again

My overall impression of this rental is that is very well cared for by the owners. Very clean and well stocked with kitchen/bath necessities. Beach was clean and sandy and my kids found lots of shells to take home as keepsakes of our time there. The water was great, we swam everyday. AC worked great, the house remained cool even on the hottest days. The owners were kind and were quick to respond if we needed anything. The owner recommended going to the african safari in port clinton and it ended being one of the highlights of our trip! I would recommend booking this property to families with kiddos, it is a fun place to stay!

The house worked well for our crew. Location was nice. Our only negative was the owners entered the house while we were working without notice. Nothing was missing, just should have let us know before entering.
