Das Steinhaus is an inviting home for couples, families, and groups who want a relaxing stay set within an authentic Texas experience. The peaceful surroundings will allow guests to immediately unwind and feel that their getaway starts right when they check in. Morning coffee or an evening cocktail can be enjoyed on the gorgeous porch that offers a view of the cattle and horses in the pasture. Apart from the comfortable sleeping accommodation, there are all the amenities that make the experience one of a kind; pool/hot tub, outdoor stone fire pit, Outdoor Television on patio, indoor fireplace, full kitchen for dining and comfortable lounge area. Guests are perfectly located in the heart of the Texas Wine Trail. Some of the most popular Fredericksburg wineries are less than 5 minutes away, and the property is only minutes from the historic Fredericksburg downtown area. The iconic town of Luckenbach is just 3.4 miles away, less than 5 miles from the Wildseed Farm, Alstadt Brewery and Trade Days. An unexpected treat is that guests can pick fruit from the orchard on the 2 acre property, in the late spring and early summer.
Please Note: You are renting a cabin in the Hill Country which means you may encounter wildlife (Snakes, Deer, Racoons, ETC) Please be aware of your surroundings, and take caution while driving at night. You may also encounter the various bugs, spiders, scorpions and mice that live in the country AND sometimes do make their way inside. All properties do utilize pest control services on a regular basis BUT this does not guarantee no pests or bugs will not be visible.

We came to Fredericksburg for a ladies' friend trip to visit the town for shopping, winery tours, and great eats! This home perfectly met our needs and sleeping arrangements. The property was clean and the check in process was very easy. The inground pool was the perfect size for us being a sport pool size and also the hot tub was great for the evenings to relax. There were only 3 pool towels for the 5 of us, that was our only complaint to have more towels for the pool. The beds were on the firm side but comfortable and the air conditioning worked well in the Texas summer heat after the initial cool down of the home. The surroundings were very peaceful and such a serene environment for this home. Thanks for a great stay! We would love to come back to visit Fredericksburg and this property again sometime.

We loved this house!! Everything was perfect. It is located close to several wineries...of course there are wineries everywhere! The house was clean. The beds were comfortable. Amazing pool and hot tub. It has everything we needed or wanted. The patio had plenty of seating. We loved sitting on the patio in the morning, watching the cattle next door. Listening to the neighbor's rooster crow. What a totally peaceful experience! We'll be back!

The house was cute and decorated well. The kitchen was well supplied with essentials. Some money could have been put into adding insulation between the first and second floor as you could hear every step and movement from upstairs. Neither bathroom shower drained. We stood in several inches of water while showering - not pleasant or relaxing. We didn't want our days interrupted with maintenance crews there while we tried to relax so we didn't bother to call. Some extra blankets could have been provided since the ones on the bed were super thin and did nothing for warmth. The property was not to tidy. There were hair bands throughout the house, game pieces all over the patio and in the house, and a ton of cigarette butts that we picked up and threw away. We liked the privacy and quiet location. We may consider staying again at this location, however, at this price point we expected the property to be much cleaner and better maintained.
