What a wonderful stay. We were fortunate to have the entire house to ourselves. Even the host was not there. The location right on the ocean front was amazing. The road directly in front was quiet at night. As is normal in most traditional Japanese homes, if you are taller than 1.6m, be prepared to duck often.
The futon beds were comfortable enough, the kitchen was very well set-up with everything you might need, the facilities were well maintained and it had free parking next door.
There were only 2 negative. The 1st was trying to find the property. Booking.com's coordinates for its exact location is incorrect. Use 42°47'32.9"N 140°18'32.9"E instead and look for the building as per the attached photos. We fortunately had a local show us the correct location. Otherwise, we would have never found it. The 2nd was that our room didn't have block out curtains. With a sunrise at around 4.15am, one would think that block out curtains would be standard.

was lovely to be in rural area lovely town and explore. super clean house. ocean swim in the next town and river swim under the bridge.
I wanted to be able to say nice things. but it was hot, uncomfortable and noisy traffic. had a funny smell. west facing house in summer not a great idea on our part. can’t use the beach out the front.
