Everything exceeded expectations. Spacious, warm, great location at incredible ski slopes, good kitchen and bathroom, comfortable beds. The host was incredible and helped us with everything. We couldn’t have wished for more.

Omusubi means rice balls in Japanese 😆The lodge owner, Ryuichi, is a local artist and avid snowboarder. He himself designed and renovated the house in 2019. The house is equipped with all the modern comforts, eg. Expresso Machine and Milk Frother, computer-like washing machine, TV remote with Netflix and YouTube bottoms, etc.
Omusubi is literally across the street from the Norikura ticketing booth! Bear in mind, Norikura is one of the smallest ski resorts in Hakuba. But during our stay, we had one good powder one day in Norikura.
On many snowing mornings, we found the friendly owner clearing snow off our car so we could be ready for the day. He also snowboarded and chaperoned my kids one day.
My family (parents and 3 kids) totally loves our stay at Omusubi. Thumbs up!
Small prints: you would need a car to get around. If you are into âpre-ski activities, Norikura is very quiet.
