CASA RURAL en Santa Cruz

This is a separate section of the hosts' house offering complete privacy - access is through a beautiful tunnel of greenery, the entrance is through the garden, and there is absolute peace and quiet. We were woken up by roosters in the far distance, and a regular visitor was the neighbors' gorgeous cat - incredibly friendly and always keeping us company while we relaxed on the terrace. It's not a typical commercial tourist spot, but in 14 years of using Booking.com, this place easily makes the podium for the best places we have ever stayed.

Nice garden; located close to Anaga mountains & walks

While the garden is great the room is fairly basic. Too be fair, I could have concluded that from the pics. It is not something I would call a Casa rural: it’s more like a student room; nothing special or to feel cosy. In fact it’s a pretty noisy room. Literally behind the room at ceiling level there is a Tennis court; so you could here the sounds of Tennis frequently. Also, the room is just adjacent to what I think was the staircase of an apartment block with not exactly sound-proof walls…. A locked door with gaps along the edges enters the staircase. Essentially I was woken up by a dog walker at 5am going downstairs. It felt like they came through the room. With one room serving as kitchen, bedroom and living room there was also the noise from the fridge disturbing my sleep at night. Okay, admittedly I am noise sensitive; the accommodation was okay for two nights but I would not stay any longer or recommend it if you are after a relaxing, quiet time in a cosy home. As I said above, the word Casa is somewhat an overstatement.
