Sergei and Ekatarina are astonishingly welcoming, invited us round for coffee, drinks, music and dancing. (if you speak Russian - or Armenian - you will get a fantastic conversation. If not - get a translation app on your phone before you arrive). The flat is a bed-living room with a small balcony from which you have a view of the castle and hills (photo on the site don't do justice) and separate kitchenette and bathroom with effective combi-boiler, 2 rings etc. Well refurbished inside. It is a short walk up the hill from the centre of town above the statue of Rustavelli - you can sit on the balcony and watch the townsfolk and dogs wandering around below. Access is round the back, up a shared (and slightly sketchy) staircase in the former soviet apartment block style. There are more blankets, towels, bathroom consumables and slippers than you can possibly exhaust.

Nothing to complain about. Be aware - it is not amongst the tourist hotels/restaurants - which are on the castle street maybe 10 mins walk. There is a good supermarket near the bridge on the way up to the flat and some other diners nearby. Similar 10 mins walk from the bus station for transfers and buses to Vardzia (for a day trip by bus you need to get the 10.30am departure - tickets for sale inside the bus station and the 3pm bus back). [Buses to Tbilisi operate separately from the other side of the petrol station from the bus station.]

Great view from the balcony. Apartment had everything you need. And the wonderful hosts live right next door and are very happy to provide everything you need.

Fabulous hosts who have gone the extra distance to provide a comfortable place in Akhaltsikhe. The view from the balcony is beautiful, the apartment is warm, clean and comfortable. The hosts live next door and are always available to answer questions. They are life-long Akhaltsikhians and they have a lot of information about the area. We arrived in the dark, made our reservation, and Yekaterina called us 5 minutes later with information about our stay. A half hour later, we were all settled in. They did such a good job of hosting us at very short notice! İt is also worth mentioning that Sergei is an amazing musician who can play music from seemingly any genre. The apartment is also just across the street from a nice market that is open late. This place is truly special, very fairly priced, and highly recommended!

We had a great stay. The apartment is great for 2 people, very centrally located near all facilities and the kitchen has everything needed for cooking. The apartment is very comfortable and clean and has a really great view. Sergei and his wife were great hosts.
