Yankee Mountain 9 - Meredith Lodging

We loved the location of the house. The hot tub was wonderful, though we did set a 4 person limit to the hot tub as to now overflow it! The house was beautiful, there was a nice hangout area and the kitchen was stocked with utensils.

The number of bedrooms listed on this house is VERY misleading. There is really only three bedrooms. Many of the beds are in hallways/common areas/closets! If you are travelling with couples and each couple wants privacy I would say the occupancy of this house is three couples max.

The location was great, there were cooking supplies and spices, the beds and couch were comfortable.

The cleanliness was poor. One of the beds had bedding that clearly hadn’t been washed, as there were dirty paw prints and dog hair all over it. Luckily we didn’t have that many people staying with us so we didn’t need to use that bed. Another bed had bedding that appeared as though it might have not been washed—the bed was sloppily made and there was dirt and hair on it. There was hair (probably from shaving?) in the bathroom sink. The carpet appeared to have pet stains. The stove vent was very gross and it had lots of old food crumbs in it. When we stripped the bedding, we noticed that the pillows had what appeared to be yellow drool stains on them…pillow covers could prevent that. There were other things that made the house feel a bit grimy. This is a smaller gripe, but the layout of the house is very strange and was not reflected in the photos. In order to get to the master bedroom upstairs, you have to cross through 2 “bedrooms” (which aren’t really rooms, more like a hallway with doors). So if you are a larger group looking to have privacy, this probably isn’t the place for you.
