Comfortable and better than expected value for money.

Rooms newly refurbished, fresh, clean and the on-suite was excellent. Food provision in the restaurant was much better than I expected and reasonably priced (as evidenced by how many locals used it). Having two EV chargers in the carpark was very useful.

Breakfast was fine, but an earlier start time would have helped (07.30am was tricky as travel time meant I had to leave at 07.40am each day). Some background noises did intrude in the room overnight, despite the best efforts of secondary glazing to keep them out.

We didn't have the breakfast because we left far too early but we did eat at the hotel and the food was exceptional - very tasty and lots of it as well as very good value. The staff were super polite and helpful and the room was very comfortable and clean. It was a very pleasant night's stay.

A VERY minor thing, there was no electric shaver point in the room and we didn't have an adaptor plug so my husband didn't shave. No big deal, just a thing to consider. It will not stop me from returning - I've already booked the next stay in November.

A traditional country inn with very friendly staff, clean and comfortable. Excellent food.

Clean and tidy, looking a bit outdated in areas but good value for money.

Property was clean and tidy, but was showing signs of wear. We stayed in room 4 and be was extremely noisy even just turning over. Some signs of wear to the wallpaper in there. Shower was nice and all in all was a decent room.

Stay away from room 15.

Breakfast, food, location.

The door to room 15 wasn't put on properly. It is a courtyard room and you can see daylight between the door and door frame. The hotel clearly knew this as they tried to cover it with a temporary draft excluder. Sadly, Network Rail were doing works across the road and without a proper door it was impossible to keep the noise out. Ended up trying to plug the gaps with my clothes. Shame, staff, food and location were good otherwise.

Large, comfortable rooms and ensuite. Staff were wonderful, looked after us so well, friendly and accommodating. Thank you all at the Frampton Arms

Stayed before and would stay again

For what we paid, the price was a bargain. The pub has a bar and restaurant, all reasonably priced, plus a large car park.

Nothing to do with the Frampton Arms, but the flooding in the Dorchester area was not good. One day, the sat nav took us down 'Watery Lane', which should have been renamed 'Under 4 inches of Water Lane'. Hpwever, there was no problem with flooding near The Frampton Arms, so please do stay there.

Brilliant

Old and charming with a modern twist. I have an allergy, which they were aware of ( not all establishments pick up on this on booking forms, even though I write it every time) so no need to go through the explaining. Food very good, worth the money (approx £14 for a curry). Will stay again

Enjoyed our stay and well worth the money paid

Was pleasantly surprised that our room was outside of the pub itself, it was a barn style room in a little courtyard so there was no pub noise. Room was great overall for the price we paid. Location is good and plenty of car parking spaces for guests. The continental breakfast was ok. The shower is powerful which was nice. We had an evening meal in the pub on our first night and the food was 10/10. The gammon shank portion size was insane!

It wasn’t clear on booking.com that the breakfast was continental which was a little disappointing but I guess our own fault for not checking. A little information print out in the room would be really helpful and is standard in most places - with WiFi codes and breakfast times/access codes etc. Storage is a little bit small so the room was messy to stay in - the bedside tables are tiny and the drawers on the dressing table are the same so nothing fits in them. The chair also doesn’t tuck under the dressing table and if it did this would create a lot more space. Not a complaint - just something we felt would make things easier.

A good experience, nice place to stay, and not too far from places to visit.

The room was comfortable and well provisioned. The staff were helpful. The evening meal was served relatively quickly. The courtesy breakfast was quite adequate. The cost was very reasonable - cheaper than some AirB&Bs in the same area.

The room could have done with one easy chair, but that was not essential. There wasn't a lift, so anyone unable to manage stairs would be unable to stay in the main house.

The property was in an ideal location close to family. It was chosen as it was a good fit to attend a New Year’s Eve Party. The staff were friendly and pleasant

On balance great value for money.

The staff and general atmosphere were lovely. The location peaceful (be aware though the property is right next to a train line, although trains do not seem to run through the night) The food was truly excellent, and the chefs really do know what they are at. Good homemade dishes did feature on this pub grub menu and it was noticeable locals also used the pub. Also with noting that the property is accessible by train for those not wanting or able to drive.

There could have been a set of draws in the room and a loo brush and they do not make up your room unless requested. The windows are nailed shut for child safety but escape could be compromised if a fire is in the hallway. The orange juice is on tap and not that great.

I like the location right next to the train station close to the venue I had to be at.

If I was to make one complaint, the only thing is the mattress in bedroom one was not the best. Everything else was perfect.

A pleasant stay!

The bed was comfortable and the room was s good size and clean.

Although the food size was very generous, the tempura vegetables ancgsmmon shank, were far too much for one portion, sadly alog of the gammon was wasted, but delicious. The breakfast was adequate, but a bit plastic, luke warm diluted coffee and the nouse of cleaning arounc us, which was not conducive to a relaxed atmosphere.

A good old fashioned pub with fire blazing: ideal for December days...

Staff were delightful. Had meals on 2 evenings and well booked, well presented, with good portions. Breakfasts continental but plenty to choose from. Excellent yoghurts, good quality bread for toasting, fruit, fruit juices, and croissants etc.

Continental breakfast which was fine, a generous assortment of everything and all very fresh. Lovely coffee. The Sunday roast was exceptional.

Possibly would rather have been in central Dorchester but the train statin was just over the road so not really a problem unless late trains were delayed or cancelled.

The staff were extremely friendly and personable. The food was very good and tasty. A lovely country pub and even though was on the road side, still lovely.

Lumpy matress on the one bed. We did expect a double bed and couldnt even move the singles together. Air con not easy to work. Bathroom not very clean by the shower and the whole room smelt damp. Too long to wait for a drink at the bar. Could use mats and tablecloths on tables. A good point of extra advice would be to reduce the portions at meal times. Too much wastage as too large a portion, that could easily feed another person with no waste incurred, which in the long run would save wastage and add to the profits.
