About this cottage rental
The ‘Ploughman’s Poet’ is a peaceful and luxurious cottage for two people that is brimming with character. A truly idyllic rural setting. Being rural we do have some farming activity nearby, excellent opportunity to explore the rural setting and see new lambs etc. Perfect for a relaxing break or any outdoors enthusiasts, with easy access to central Scotland. Easy access to local train stations providing quick & easy access to both Edinburgh and Glasgow city centers.
The property offers; 1 double bedroom with King sized bed and built in wardrobes, fantastic dining kitchen, large dual aspect lounge with access to outside decked area, modern bathroom and large garden.
The Ploughman’s Poet offers the perfect space for spending those long summer evenings in, taking in the striking views over the surrounding countryside watching the beautiful sunset.
Local information folder with all the attractions, eateries, shopping we have to offer is inside.
Guest access
There is ample parking for a number of cars, the Ploughman's Poet is located on the same site as our home. Therefore i am around if you need anything. The cottage is a completely detached one bedroom cottage with it's own private access and front door. Access to our ground is via a securely locked gate. Our location is rural, there is a farm locally. But within easy reach of all local amenities.

The Ploughman's Poet is situated on our grounds, I am right on site for any assistance.

Strictly no smoking.
No car charging facilities on site.
Car is essential if you plan to travel around, we are not on any local bus routes. There is a train station at Fauldhouse which is 3 miles away and Bathgate 6 miles.

The ploughman’s poet cottage was the perfect spot for our time in Scotland. It was a cute cottage out in the country centrally located with everything we needed for our stay. The hosts were super kind and helpful for our first time in Scotland and made us the best cheesecake! We were so thankful for all of the helpful advice. We would definitely stay here again on a return visit!

Our stay was magnificent! The cottage was perfectly appointed, clean, and quiet. Extra thoughtfulness and generosity was provided with abundance. The kitchen was even set up with spices, condiments, milk, eggs, bread, butter, etc. This is clearly not an expectation for a host. But expect to be treated with superior care and attention from this host. Linda was a fantastic communicator from the very first time we connected six months ago when we initially booked it.

Absolutely wonderful stay. Linda and David were amazing hosts. The cottage was perfect. Very clean. Very comfortable. All of the amenities, including two beautiful black labs.

Heating system was fixed midway through stay during wintry conditions. Far too many scent plugs in rooms. Long road access has deep potholes. Property manager attentive & offered a refund if we wished to go somewhere else.
