We had a really enjoyable stay at the apartment. The family who run the hotel are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere throughout was warm and relaxed. Our German is virtually non-existent, but they were very kind and happy to speak with us in English, which we really appreciated. The apartment itself was just wonderful. There was plenty of space for our family of four, two adults and two teenagers. The Wi-Fi was good, and the kitchen contained everything we needed, including some thoughtful extras such as soap, dishwasher tablets and other useful essentials. There were also two excellent shower rooms, both supplied with soap and plenty of towels. One of our favourite features was the excellent fly screens. It was very hot during our visit, but we could leave the windows open at night and enjoy the fresh air without worrying about flies or mosquitoes. The screens were really well designed and gave us confidence that nothing would get in. Despite the high temperatures, the apartment never became unbearably hot. We also ate at the restaurant one evening and were very impressed. The food was delicious and we all thoroughly enjoyed our chosen dishes I am a vegetarian which they catered for. The staff were, once again, attentive and friendly. The owner was also very helpful, offering advice about places to visit and recommending a lovely local walk. The location is particularly convenient if you are exploring the surrounding area by car. There are lots of beautiful walks nearby and plenty of local attractions within easy reach, including Feldberg Mountain, the Triberg and Todtnau waterfalls (including the Black Forest suspension bridge), the world's largest cuckoo clock, and Lakes Titisee and Schluchsee. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend this apartment to families looking for a comfortable, spacious and welcoming base for exploring the beautiful Black Forest.
