Høyden Apartments

Great location, we could walk to everything - pick ups for excursions, restaurants, Bryggen etc and there were supermarkets nearby. The apartment was clean and comfortable and nicely furnished and decorated. The blinds blocked out light at night in the bedrooms which was good. It was great being able to store luggage on our last day. Having codes to get in worked well with a group of us as we could be independent getting into and out of the apartment.

There was a problem with something beeping intermittently from above the cooker, hopefully this will be sorted before any more guests arrive.

The apartment is nice, well compartmented, well equipped and very close to the city center. Hosts were great and easy to communicate with.

The cleaning ladies missed a few things, but the hosts were great to help fix that. Some of the rooms are a bit small to fit luggages in, but the wardrobes help.

Excellent location in a quiet neighborhood! It was easy to find and the check in instructions were clear.

The curtains don’t fully block the window, especially when the sun doesn’t set.

The apartment was comfortable and had a nice interiors. Location was nice, 15 mins walking distance to the old town and nice restaurants and cafes.

Service was quite poor. We got dirty dishes in dishwasher. Beds are not made . You are expected to make your own bed along with duvet covers. This is completely putting me off as it was not mentioned at time of booking or anytime before check-in. I was in different apartments in Norway also and this is not typical at all. You get long list of instructions about bedsheets along with check in codes. Our kitchen had 2 tea spoons and no other cutlery. No microwave in the kitchen , this was also something which was an issue for us as we have a toddler and we need to warm food , milk very often. There were no toiletries in the bathroom which was also something which is not typical as compared to other homestays we were in Norway. The owner was responsive but the answers were not helpful at all as everything which I asked had response on the lines that "we don't provide this or this is expected" Also you need to take out your own trash. Again this is first time I had such a stay with all these requirements. I think owners don't spend on cleaning service, they expect most of things to be done by guests themselves. I don't expect this for the price.
