This lower-floor unit of a sweet family home has astounding views of Depoe
Bay—step out the door onto the grassy lawn and you’ll find yourself on a low, rocky
cliff above the ocean strewn with kelp and foam. Seabirds, seals, and whales may be
fishing in the surf below you, and scanning the horizon can reward you with the

The best place in Depot Bay. So many whales and their babies. Close enough to walk to all the restaurants and shops.

The TV in the bedroom doesn't work. The house smelled musty. There is no dishwasher or washer and dryer, but it was not advertised with those appliances. On that good side, the views are spectacular, and the living room is very comfortable. Also, you don't have to pay for a whale watching trip because you can watch them from your living room!

The view is amazing!!!! My only feedback would be to upgrade the mattress' (both twin and queen) as they were very soft, and not the most comfortable.

The view here just can't be beat! The house was clean and cozy, really liked the recliners to watch the waves from.Only downside was the beds. Both mattresses felt pretty old and worn, and the queen bed frame was noisy and wobbly.If the beds were a bit better, this is easily a 5/5 house. Would still stay here again though. Thank you for a lovely weekend!

Beautiful property and view, great location! The house was clean but I do not think we will stay here again until a few things are checked out. We did have problems with birds living in the wall of the bathroom and made the bathroom loud and smell. We could not figure out where the heat was coming from. It may have been the people upstairs but it was very warm and humid. The most important thing to note are the mattresses, they were incredibly uncomfortable.

You can’t find a better view for the price—where you have a fireplace and a kitchen. The place is clean, spacious for two, a small outdoor (non fenced) grass patch for dog’s early hour “needs”, and a wonderfully walkable location to neighborhoods AND to the main drag of Depot Bay. We will be back. Loved it!

We had such a nice stay:)A cozy home with a gorgeous view, and the host Meredith was the best!Even with stormy weather and rain, it was nice to relax in front of the big bay window and watch the fishing boats and could watch the blow hole splash 20 feet in the air.One night we intensely watched the Coast Gaurd waiting for the violent waves to calm enough to make it through channel.Good restaurants and food everywhere!

We've stayed at this rental twice now, and we enjoy the location and proximity to town. This stay, though, there were several disappointing things happen. When we arrived, there was no toilet paper in the house, only one bath towel, and a bunch of used dog poop bags left by the front door. Not the best welcome to the house. While our contact was apologetic, I had to go out and buy toilet paper.... which is really expensive in a small coastal town. Towels came the next morning. Small details were missed, and I understand mistakes happen, but our stay would have been better had we not had to deal with all that. The location is beautiful though, which is why we stayed here a second time.

Overall, our stay was pleasant. Location is amazing, great view and close to everything in Depoe Bay. A couple of cons, uncomfortable beds and people can be heard walking around in the upstairs unit. Despite the cons, we would stay here again.

Amazing location and view was spectacular! House is outdated andLR chairs not very comfortable. Rug in the LR was filthy and needs a good cleaning! Bedroom was comfortable and bathroom was fine but could be updated! We really didn’t use the kitchen ( so many good restaurants in walking distance.. It looked very well quipped! Can’t talk enough about the grounds and views! It was a great Birthday weekend celebration! Thanks!

This property was great for just one person. The kitchen is small, but it worked for me. I do think a good inventory needs to be taken in the kitchen and things need to be updated. The view was great - even saw a whale or two from the comfort of the love seat in front of the window. It's an older home than I expected. But, I went for the solitude and the view, and I was greeted by both.

Wonderful view. Best location in town! Comfortable little portion of the house. It was not clear in the VRBO listing that it was not the entire house. Main floor was rented out separately so can hear people moving about above you. This rental is lower level. Still a great view. Management company was very rigid. Add on fees very high. Check in was not pleasant. Also checkout required at 10:00 am which is early when you are at a wonderful location. Makes it so can’t enjoy the morning, and they require guest to strip beds, etc.

This was a super cute house with a spectacular view. I didn't really see a lot of people talking about this, but that's a cliff face. There's no getting down to the beach there. The bed wasn't the best we've had, but it also wasn't the worst. I was definitely happy to be back in my bed when we got home. The kitchen has a good assortment of pots, pans, etc... With plenty of cups, plates, silverware, and bowls. The best part, besides the amazing view, was how close it was to everything. We could walk from the front door to the main street in a minute, and all of the little shops are only another minute or two down the road.

Super great spot for a couples getaway, you can walk to all the shops along the main strip of Depoe Bay and watch the waves roll in from the front door. The only issue we had is it wasn’t clear from the check in email that there are two rentals in the same house, the one we stayed in was on the lower level but had the same address on the email as the upper level. Overall amazing property that we plan to visit again in the future

We chose this house based off location and we were not disappointed! The views were incredible; you can whale watch from your bedroom or living space. The little cafe across the street has the best biscuits and gravy. Only downfall was the bed and bedframe. Very loud and not comfortable. But overall we will happily rent here again!

This property has a very good view and is within a short walk of town. That really made it worth it for us! One thing that wasn't specified online is that it is a basement house, so you go around to the side and there is someone staying above you. This caused some initial confusion, but once figured out wasn't too big of a deal. The bed is really uncomfortable and that was probably the biggest con. The other sleeping options are a pullout couch and pullout chair. They also looked uncomfortable, but our kids didn't seem to mind. They are all in the main living area. Also, if you are planning on doing a lot of cooking, the kitchen is very small, and not well equipped. We mostly wanted a great view this visit with close proximity to downtown Depoe Bay, so for this purpose it was great! Plenty of sitting room and large windows looking out to the sea. We saw lots of whales!

Great place. As close as you can get to the Depoe Bay Harbor Channel!( Actually, a high end hotel called the Channel House is closer). But right on the edge of the rock cliff- up about 4 feet above the raging surf! Saw many bald eagles and harbor seals and grey whales. Loved the distant drone of the bells on the outer buoys. There is a nice bench donated by the 'Marks' family that you can sit on and watch the boats come in and out. We enjoyed the Coast Guard rescue boat that was out patrolling and came back in. Whole place is lovely, lots of extras- they even have a pair of binoculars on the fireplace mantle! We were downstairs (Ground level) - the upstairs is separate and it's entry is off the street- but only a few stairs. We were only there on night. A bit pricy once they add in all the fees- but it seems all prices have gone up since COVID?? The BEST, and I mean the BEST Mexican Restaurant is around the cone rot the north on HWY 101, called the Mazatlán.huge portions and outstanding flavor. Owner, Berdi and his son David ( waiter) are super hosts. The view from the table is right over the water! How did I not know of this place- will be back. Will be back to Gardner House as well. Kitchen was super well stocked! Loved the coffee mini 'frac packs' for the easy to use Mr. Coffee machine. No problem parking our two cars in the driveway. They even supplied two 'Duraflame' type logs for a nice fire ( they do NOT allow any regular firewood by the way. Great palce!

If you smoke anything anywhere anytime, if you pack a pack of smoke or a lighter in your luggage, if you have anything that might even LOOK like it might smoke, you have apparently violated their policies that they won't tell you about until they have your money in their hands. Even in your own car. Even 1 foot off the property line. Just be warned that they are not friendly, despite being within a block of a dispensary in a state with cannabis tourism and legal possession of hard drugs. So tank their business model by reading my review.

A great place I will rent again! The key pad did not properly function and required numerous calls ending with access to the key box. Key box very difficult to put back in. So getting in the house and locking up in the end was very frustrating

This is a wonderful property with beautiful views that accommodates furry friends. My review is only about our dissatisfaction with Meredith property managers. We booked one week in advance of Christmas when family illness changed our plans. A couple days after booking we learned of a treacherous ice storm hitting the area. I looked at the location website to see if we might be able to move our reservation forward 24 hours to avoid the ice in the coastal range. The calendar for the property showed it was in fact vacant the day after we were to check out. So it didn’t look like a problem. Surely the property owners and managers would want to accommodate the safety of their guests if possible. Well that was NOT the case from Meredith Lodging. They REFUSED to move us one day even though the property was vacant the next day. They prioritize PROFITS over the safety of their guests. End result we paid for two nights but only stayed one. Hope the owners are happy with this. We have stayed at vacation properties all over the US and Europe. We have never had this bad of an experience with an unaccommodating host. Buyer beware.

Lovely place to stay for a few days. Views are fabulous! Saw many whales during our stay in October-definite highlight of trip. (Great timing for us). I will say the windows were dirty, especially on the outside. You could tell they hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time. Other than that it was a cozy place for two people and a small dog.
