Beautiful historic building with original features and sympathetically added modern amenities of a high quality

Very historic with all the luxury comforts. The design and decor was sumptuous . The location is in walking distance of everything you would want for a stay in Stratford no cars needed.
Not that we didn’t like but as 6 women we prefer one more shower for our 2 night stay.

The quirks. Walking often times feels like being on a cruise ship. Walls seem to defy physics. Outside looks like a gingerbread house made by my 8 year old. This place was awesome!

It's impossible to say what we liked most - the location was so handy! The house was so tastefully decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed. The couches were so comfy! The outside seating was ideal for hanging out and there was even a hammock. The bedrooms were cool in the hot summer and the beds and linens were high end. The house was so clean! But most of all, just the history of the place was so impressive. Don't hesitate to book this property!
As it's an old house the sound from neighbouring properties comes through really loudly. It's important to stay quiet after 11pm to respect the neighbours but equally when they are just walking around going to bed it is very noisy and in the mornings we could hear almost every word they were saying. But it didn't bother us much as we weren't there to stay up late.

This property is exceptional and unique with a lot of time and love spent by the owners to restore it to the way it now is. Our favourite place we have stayed so far. Excellent location, quiet but in the heart of Stratford so everything within walking distance. Extremely comfortable, steeped in history as explained by the owners in the must-read information book, but with up-to-date facilities inc kitchen and bathrooms. Hope to come back.
As we are a family of 5 travelling during Winter, a dryer would have been beneficial, but the heating was sufficient to dry everything on radiators and in the kitchen overnight.

Fantastic house if you like period properties and you know what you are getting - shows off the history nicely and much of the furnishings support the feel.
Really good experience of staying up and just chilling in this amazing historic building, original exposed plaster work, every door amazingly opens and closes perfectly with not a single angle that makes sense, crazy walls bent out of shape with age, kitchen modern enough to retreat to after a day out and cook up dinner.
Central to many of the key visitor attractions in the area.
Parking is for a single car, so if you have more than one car for your party, you will need to find parking in local public car park, and be aware of the parking restrictions or you could end up with a ticket.
Due to the age of the property and original features, the living room area was a little cold - not wanting to start up the log burner (i didn't want to be the man that burned down this wonderful historic property) we luckily had blankets with us. It was early in the year, so still in the clutches of winter. If you are more confident about your fire skills and not burning down the property, there is a log burner and a fair price on wood to burn.
