Peaceful stay

The setting is beautiful and peaceful and the house has lots of space. The pool is great with amazing views. Bernardo was a lovely host and very helpful. The bottle of wine was lovely.

The wifi didn't work whilst we were there although we were told it would be looked at the day we left. You have to pay to use the heating, which we told when we arrived but would have been nice to know before hand. The mattresses need an upgrade, very bouncy and could feel the springs when you slept.

Wonderful stay with a beautiful view

We had the most wonderful stay. The houses are old, rustic and very charming. It was quite warm when we were there in July and all the windows had mosquito net and every room had a fan. We were 7 people and stayed in a four bedroom apartment. The surroundings and the view was amazing. The pool area was very nice and relaxing with beautiful flowers surrounding the area. We definitely recommend the wine tasting, it was great both to taste the fantastic wine and also to hear about the long and interesting history. It took about 30 minutes to drive to the center of Florence. Whenever we needed something from the host we got an answer right away. Thank you Gerardo and especially Donatella.

Beautiful, easily accesseble location, beautiful view. Real Tuscany athmosphere. The pool is great too.

The bad and the shower were very uncomfortable. Also, an air-conditioning would be great too.

great location, great house, lovely pool and all round great place to stay.

a real taste of Tuscany and great place to relax and enjoy family time. lovely setting and the pool helped with the hot days. fans were essential and provided in all the rooms and the kitchen was very well equipped.

only slight issue was the lizards in the house (one quite large in one of the bedrooms).

Great location. Rustic. Wine tasting. Bernardo Gerado and Donatella were welcoming and helpful

Pool too small for 14 people. It wasn’t properly maintained filter leaked and water became murky. Unable to use larger pool at other property. Information on booking.com is misleading: no tennis courts, ping pong or larger pool available at our property. When you book it appears that ALL these facilities are available to ALL the houses. The driveway was decaying and non negotiable with a full vehicle (5 people and luggage)4 wheel drive vehicle was ok. Bathrooms in need of renewal.

Poor

The pool! By far, the best thing about it is the pool. Oh yes and the person who answers their queries was very responsive, we got replies on the day but obviously a lot of the issues could not be fixed.

Oh dear, where do I start. We fully understand the idea of agriturismo, but there are dozens of other agriturismo properties in the surrounding area that, at least on paper, have better offerings. The basic items of comfort were missing in this property and the pictures used on booking.com are quite misleading. We had one of the 4 bedroom properties. The grounds around the property are not very well kept. There are a lot of overgrown bushes and dead plants all over, just looks very neglected at first glance. WiFi - non existent! Literally you could only just about get it when sitting on the steps outside the house. The house has WiFi extender, but that’s pointless when it is not actually connected to WiFi in the first place! This was brought up to the owners during stay but seemingly nothing was done about it. So if you have to do any work during your stay, forget it! You’re very unlikely to get good mobile phone reception at the property, so a proper WiFi setup would really help. Bedding and pillows - absolutely appalling, pillows felt like a piece of cardboard. We had 4 nights of very little sleep and checked out a day earlier because we could not put ourselves through another night of no sleep. Again, this was brought up with the owners but apparently no alternative pillows are available. Oh yes and ours had blood stains on the sheet in one of the bedrooms. It was replaced when we mentioned it to the property. Not mosquito nets on windows or beds, so during summer time, if you don’t bring a mosquito repellent, you will regret it. Kitchen - very poorly equipped. You might be able to get a take away pizza and use the plates and cutlery available at the property, but cooking would be very challenging. There are no essentials, like salt, sugar or olive oil. So if you arrive late, like we did, you must make a crazy dash to the supermarket which closes at 8.30pm to get yourself provisions for the morning. And you need everything including washing up liquid!

Good

The location of the Gondi estate in the middle of wine yards close to Pontassieve is very beautiful and the pool area has an amazing view. Even though all appartments were fully booked during our entire two week stay it never felt crowded. The apartment was basic but functional. Except for a washing maschine, which would be very useful for guests that have a longer stay we did not miss any equipment.

As we stayed for two weeks we would have wished for towels to be exchanged more frequently or not only upon request. The trash system was not thoroughly explained to us, thus we did not know how to correctly dispose of it in the city. Interaction with the owner was effective in general but it did not seem as if they were very interested in how we were doing during our stay. Unfortunately we had bed bugs in some of the matraces and could not use them any more after we discovered this. When confronting the owner with the problem they seemed rather uninterested and helpless und could not really provide us with a satisfactory solution. This experience unfortunately hampered our otherwise pleasant experience rather much.

An extraordinary, wonderful stay in a rustic house with nice swimmingpool.

The location within a wineyard, the rustic style of the house(s) and the nice and well maintained swimming pool are positive factors making a stay there unforgettable. The hosts are very service oriented and supportive. Wifi worked very well for us. Dogs are allowed.

Access road conditions. Bathrooms seem to be pretty aged.

Sehr nette Mitarbeiter und das Wein Tasting ist unbedingt zu empfehlen. Herrliches Lage in den Bergen der Toskana und mit den Zug schnell in Florenz. Apartment sehr sauber und super Aussicht.

Betten könnten mal erneuert werden. Etwas durchgelegen.

Host fantastico, più che disponibile. Casa del falegname ..per noi troppo isolata.

La casa del falegname è una sistemazione perfetta per chi cerca pace, silenzio, solitudine e contatto con la natura ( la casa è attrezzatissima, a 100 MT dalla villa grande del '500 e circondata da un bosco ripido.. quindi lontana da sguardi indiscreti e a due minuti di auto dalla bella piscina) Purtroppo non ci aspettavamo questo e avremmo preferito probabilmente gli altri appartamenti dei marchesi, in un contesto più conviviale e vicini alla piscina per nostra figlia di 12 anni. Abbiamo quindi chiesto di interrompere il soggiorno e Gerardo, l'host, è stato comprensivo e disponibilissimo, dandoci anche modo di rifare i bagagli senza alcuna fretta. Grande Host!

Non ci aspettavamo di essere così "isolati". La sera la villa nemmeno si percepisce, e hai intorno solo bosco buio pieno di rumori di animali..., per noi quindi un po' troppo diverso dalle aspettative.. visto che avevamo anche una ragazzina, ma è soggettivo. Ciò che non è piaciuto a noi è sicuramente oro per altri.
