Would definitely stay there again, really comfortable, clean and of a high standard.

Beautifully appointed with very comfortable quality furniture and fittings. Cosy and homely with a good kitchen.

Outside space in general needed a tidy up as they were doing some renovating. Car parking facilities a bit hit and miss as the car in couldn’t always park. Bedrooms under eaves roofs and we hit our heads a few times! Second bedroom had animal in the roof which made a lot of noise at night, but that’s hard to prevent in the countryside in winter!

Perfect location for us as we went to horse racing. Also peaceful.

Little difficult to find location once parked, as dark. Instructions stated under the stone arch, maybe worth adding that there is a door to go through. Thankfully, able to find proprty as own came out to offer help -thank you. Lovely lady and very helpful

Pleasant stay in a good location

Location perfect, apartment spacious and bed comfortable. Generally well equipped

Limited heating (controlled by host and got cool during the day with no alternative means (e.g oil fired plug in) and these days i would expect just a few basics like a pint of milk, salt & pepper, cling film etc which are useful if a arriving on a Sunday night as i often do

Amazing place

We liked everything. Beautiful room, spotlessly clean, large comfortable bed, stunning grounds, great keysafe entry, excellent lighting, powerful hot shower, large fluffy towels, ample parking, central location but felt like you were in the countryside. We saw hares and deer from our room whilst sat relaxing. A special place where we would not hesitate to return to.

Just one thing was missing and that was a pint of milk in the fridge for the tea and coffee provided.

Location ideal for us

The cottage was a little sparce on some items: No where to hang wet coats No dust pan brush / broom to sweep the floor of bread crumbs after trying to cut a slice of bread with 4" ceramic knife. There was some heating in the morning but not sufficient to take the chill of the shower room. Overall we enjoyed our stay primary due to its location, value for money was good.

Charming terraced cottage in beautiful grounds.

The property is a charming and characterful building, part of a series of conversions in Octon House and its outbuildings. The gardens are beautiful and the location was perfect for our two day visit to see family. The highlight for us was the outstandingly comfortable King sized bed. We had trouble getting up in the morning! It was peaceful but only a couple of miles from the centre of town. Generous parking. Very good instructions from the owners to help us find the place which is potentially confusing.

It’s an old property, nicely converted but there was a little noise that came through from the adjoining apartment into the living room (bedroom was not affected). Not a problem over a couple of days, it might have become more irksome in a longer stay. The other major improvement would be a larger fridge which is really not in keeping with the rest of the excellent self catering facilities.

Small but well furnished. Amazingly comfortable bed.

The WiFi was really poor. When it did work it was 2 Mbps and too slow for anything like a teams meeting or even watching Netflix or Prime. It was terrestrial only. Good WiFi is critical on a business trip

Lovely cottage. Brilliant stay.

This was a lovely cottage in a great location. I liked everything about it. It was cosy and quaint and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and there was a lovely powerful shower. The owners were quick to respond to messages. It was ideally suited for visiting Taunton yet felt like a stay in the countryside. There were nice walks from and around the nearby race course. I would definitely stay again.

Stylishly presented, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the beautiful outlook into the garden. It was a bonus to be able to prepare meals in the well-equipped kitchen. Appreciated the timely communication and check-in information.

Wonderful and peaceful tranquility.

Beautiful setting, very safe and comfortable. Felt like a home from home. Probably the best place I have stayed. I felt so at ease and the setting is absolutely beautiful. We had privacy and were able to get things done. Had peace to write and have a bit of solitude. It is exactly what we needed.

I don't think there is anything I can say that was bad. Great service and just a happy and warm place. I would recommend although I want it all to myself!

Excellent one bedroom lodge, with a big bed, everything you need is provided Inc. Towels, iron/ironing board, hairdryer. Good location. The only thing that needs improving is for the bathroom door to shut properly and a lock on the door

The location was good and the accommodation superb1!! The centre of Taunton was within easy reach by car and I understand by bus. I appreciated being close to the major attractions and particularly enjoyed my visit to Dunster on the West Somerset Heritage Railway from Bishops Lydeard. Great views!

Access to the property from the main road although precise instructions were given by the host which was helpful.

Cosy countryside stay near Taunton

The cottage was situated in the most gorgeous garden with a view over the fields. It was great to be able to explore the local countryside and be in such close distance to Taunton. The beds were really comfy and the kitchen and bathroom were well equipped and modern. The hosts kindly let us have a late check out to facilitate the remote work of my friend

The WiFi was a little slow, and there was no drying rack to use with the washing machine. Two very small niggles to an otherwise exceptional stay!

This is such a hidden gem

The cottage was so spacious. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. We could not have asked for a nicer place. On our arrival we were met by Geoff. He was so friendly and chatty, he even offered to help with our luggage, which I thought was a nice touch We will definitely like to return in the near future.

A beautiful place for a peaceful sleep

Beautiful space, so cosy and surrounded by nature in the grounds of a gorgeous house. We loved the huge Beech tree outside the property :) Communication with the host was also great.

Nothing! Thought it was wonderful. It’s worth mentioning that it’s close to quite a busy road, but you can barely hear it when you’re inside (we slept extremely well!)
