You’ll find Rose Cottage right in the centre of the tourist hotspot of Betws-y-Coed. A former railwayman’s cottage, it has been extended and offers light, airy and spacious semi-detached accommodation for six guests and has two bathrooms. There is private parking for two cars next to the cottage, but you can leave the car and hop on a bus or train as the railway station is practically next door. To keep the chilldren of all ages entertained there is a Garlando Evolution Football table and air hockey table.

There are numerous places to eat in the village, more outdoor shops than you can shake a stick at, and many walks from the door - either along the riverbank, round the nearby golf course, or through leafy glades in the Gwydyr Forest Park. You will find yourself within walking distance of Zip World Fforest too, where adrenaline junkies will love trying out the Power Fan or Fforest Coaster, whilst the whole family will enjoy the treetop nets. The garden is across a path leading to the other railway cottages, but is spacious with plenty of room to enjoy a glass or two of wine or dine al fresco as you look out over the valley, and see the miniature trains at the Conwy Valley Railway Museum.

In the evening you can walk to a nearby hotel or restaurant for a delicious meal, perhaps catch a male voice choir performing in the village church during the summer months, or relax and plan your next day. Betws-y-Coed is the ‘Gateway to the Snowdonia National Park’, and there is much to explore. Take the scenic route to Llanberis via Capel Curig, or climb (or take the rack and pinion railway) up Mount Snowdon. At 3,560ft, it is the highest mountain in Wales! You can also explore the National Slate Museum, wander round pretty Beddgelert, or hop on the Conwy Valley line train to either the Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno, or go the other way up into the hills at Blaenau Ffestiniog, where you’ll find the largest zip wire zone in the world. Families can also enjoy Bounce Below, where you can bounce on nets deep in an old slate cavern, or take a leisurely trip on a steam train on the Ffestiniog Railway. Beach 20 miles. Shop and restaurant 50 yards, pub 100 yards.

Please note: There are open, steep, spiral or narrow stairs at the property.

Free WiFi

The garden is detached from the house and is accessed across a footpath from the back door.

Please note that the Conwy Valley railway line passes the end of the garden – there are six trains each way Monday-Saturday, and a very limited summer Sunday service.

There are open, steep, spiral or narrow stairs at the property.
