Pleasant stay but a bit far and transport-wise, inconvenient on weekends.

We like the fact that it is floating cabin. The place was modern and clean. Unfortunately it was raining most of the time. On our last morning there, we were visited by 2 swans!

When we first arrived, we stepped into a dark reception. The staff was not even aware that there was a check in that afternoon. This is despite us communicating with the property through booking.com, the day before. But I guess we must be grateful that there was actually someone there because most other days, there were nobody in the reception at all. Balcony lights were not working. This was reported but nothing was done about it. Equipping could be better thought through e.g. floormat for the bathroom, gloves to take things out of oven etc… No buses pass near the area on Saturdays and Sundays and it was not mentioned before our booking. We had to find it out ourselves on a rainy day and drag our luggages in the rain for 20 mins before we could connect to a tram.

Industrial estate location, overpriced, no TV and no staff

I am trying to be nice as I do think the staff member was kind and friendly. We stayed here as we were going to a gig at Monument next door so the location was good for that reason alone. The apartment was clean and the bed comfortable.

Unfortunately this resort is in an industrial estate and everything was shut including the resort. We arrived and it was locked up and looked empty. I tried calling the number provided and emailing and we stood for 10 minutes in the rain - luckily a kind man came along and helped us get in but I am not sure what would have happened if it wasn't for this person. The staff member was in the reception and told us they were leaving and that they would not be back early the next day so we were alone, no shop and no staff to help if we needed it. The resort has parking but we had to pay 200 kr for it which stung given we paid over 1800 for a very basic apartment and no TV - the description said TV with channels and there wasn't one. We did find a remote control for the TV. So that was disappointing. I appreciate the resort is out of season but this should be clearly stated.

Comfortable clean house boat with lovely wee restaurant.

Very kind people at their nice little restaurant, comfortable house boat with a terrace on the water.

Except for boating there wasn’t much to do in the immediate surroundings. For nice walks we had to take the car.

A relaxing stay on the other side of the river

I booked La Mare and only then, a few days before arrival, decided to read reviews. You’ll notice that they’re a mixed bunch and, to be fair, I understand why but there are a few things I read which are just unfair. The cleanliness, quality of accommodation, comfort, WiFi (seriously? People rate a place based on WiFi?!) were all excellent. On top of this, the staff were incredibly pleasant and helpful. We arrived a little after reception was due to close but they contacted me and explained that they’d wait. Staff were always on the end of an SMS if I needed any local knowledge too.

I didn’t ’not like’ this but I wish I’d been a little more aware of the area that La Mare is in. Essentially, you’ll be in the middle of a (very quiet) industrial estate. Don’t expect to be surrounded by bars, cafes, restaurants. You’ll be surrounded by warehouses. This didn’t bother my family and I at all. The area is quiet and very safe. The view from our houseboat (number 5) was lovely too - overlooking the river and a series of other yachts and boats. The tram line was a 5-10 minute walk away and the centre of town was about a 10 minute tram ride. We loved the chance to get some steps in every day!

A peaceful, sunlit stay on a charming houseboat, with beautiful harbourscapes

Staying on the houseboat was wonderful. It actually looked better than in the photos. The harbourscapes are special. We also happened to catch sunny days in Sweden, which made everything feel even more peaceful and bright. The host was warm and very generous. The connection to the city worked well. You walk a bit through an industrial-looking part of Göteborg before reaching the tram that takes you over the water, into the heart of the city. That also felt like a nice nod to the city’s roots, shaped by trade and the harbour. I'd come back without hesitation.

We didn't get the house we booked. And the terrible smell coming from the toilet forced us to return home the same day. And when we left the key after a few hours of stay, no one asked us if everything was okay?

A nice and clean accomodation. A unique experience to sleep on a houseboat. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

For four people the houseboat was a bit too small. And the surrounding neighbourhood wasn't great, it felt a bit unsafe.

Rough.

The house boat - cool idea if it is sunny.

The owner was quite rude to us. Not a pleasant person. Also they had the wrong phone number on the Booking.com site. Was a lot of confusion with check in and then they blamed it on us, eventhough we tried to contact them multible times. Trash was full. Really far from the city centre and no grocery store nearby. If you book it, have a car.

Accommodation had been great. Nice view into the marina, surprisingly warm during winter with a soft relaxing swing. Staff had been exceptional, offering an excellent service. The district Ringön provides an exciting atmosphere of an industrial port yet with good restaurants/bars nearby.

Location, but I knew that before booking. 35min walk to central station and 25min walk to closets tram. Few restaurants in the area but they were closed over the weekend. Thank God for uber and uber eats

Incredible place to stay on a floating boat.

Incxredible feeling to sleep on a boat, with view over the water from each room. The staff is very helpfull and friendly. We went to a local brewery recoomended by the host, it was one excellent experience. Rooms were very clean and warm, despite outside temperature were freezing. Im looking forward to book in the spring or summer, so i can enjoy the open upper deck.
