We liked everything except breakfast.

Breakfast. It was poor: dry distasteful bread, must be out of freezer, no fruit, juice, yoghurt.... For 3 of us we have got: 2 boiled eggs, 6 thin pieces of salami, 3 small butters.

We had a wonderful stay in a very comfortable apartment with fantastic views of the valley.

After spending a week in super crowded Venice, we were ready to leave the crowds for a few days of peace and quiet in the country. In the Podere Pietreta we found the perfect place. Located in a magnificent setting some two kilometers from the beautiful hill town of Radicofani in Val D'Orcia, we found the Podere the ideal agriturismo for anyone looking for the serenity and tranquillity of the country. The friendly reception by Massimo and Tina, the Podere's owners, made us immediately feel at home. They were courteous and wonderful hosts whose love for the place and its surrounding countryside was infective. Ever attentive to our needs, they introduced us to the Val D'Orcia, its beautiful countryside, its historic hill towns, and its wonderful restaurants. Our apartment, immaculately clean, had a ling room (with two couches), a separate bedroom, and a fully stacked kitchen with a fantastic view of the valley. And, just a few feet away from the kitchen, a laundry room with washer, drier, soap, etc, was at our complete disposal. A large and inviting swimming pool complements the structure and we made good use of it. Massimo and Tina produce wine and olive oil for their own private consumption. We shall always remember with great pleasure their invitation to share with them a glass of their delicious wine. We stayed at the Podere for two wonderful weeks in August, and aim to return at the earliest opportunity.

Beautiful location

The location is great - Radicofani is a beautiful village. The apartment was clean and had everything one needs - except a kettle for those who might like tea - the gas stove and a metal jug does work too so not really necessary. Tina was very reachable via WhatsApp which was great.

There were a lot of cats (1 seemed trained while the rest were strays). They were rather a pest - we couldn't leave our doors open because any chance they got they would run inside the apartment and if we ate outside they could come running to the table (one even jumped on the table to get at our food). The pillows could be renewed - very thin. No pool towels - so remember to bring some along.

- really remote, in the woods, we were the only ones on location for the night - nice morning view of the valley as it is set a bit on top - cozy room, good taste in decorations - nice host, communicated all details remote via phone, all worked smooth - solid wifi

- some outside lights could have helped. We arrived after sunset and was quite dark, thanks to the moonlight we managed - mattress quite soft for my taste. I'm quite a thin guy and i felt like dropping into it

Beautiful place. Old house, renovated with style. Washing machine and dryer. And a swimming pool !

Owners were not there. All communication done via mobile. Property is very isolated and that means you have no easy access to food. Breakfast was very poor (and on a plastic dish): no possibility to chose. You get it delivered at your room. All but what I was expecting by an agriturismo.

The staff was friendly, efficient and the most helpful. The place was close to an amazing medieval village and the atmosphere was relaxing and very quiet.

Arriving with the motorbike the road wasn’t easily accessible but we made it through anyway.

Superb

The stay was very comfortable. Location accessible by private transport, tucked in a quite corner with a wonderful view. The hosts were very welcoming, accommodative and guided us well with suggestions. Since the network connectivity of the area is low, the WIFI connection in the house was very helpful. Overall I would definitely recommend the stay here.

Great experience in a wonderful location!!!

We had a wonderful time in Pietreta. The house is a tipically restored 18th century Tuscan farmhouse with a wonderful view; the apartments are decorated accordingly and fully equipped. We spent very pleasant hours by the swimming pool after sightseeing in the extraordinary Vald'Orcia. The village is a little gem, full of activities and exhibitions in summer. We particularly appreciated the kindness of Mauro, the local guy overseeing the property. Very relaxing. Highly recommended.

Podere situato in una zona di campagna ma molto vicino al delizioso borgo di Radicofani. Appartamento confortevole. Proprietari gentili e accoglienti. Ideale per chi ama la tranquillità e vuole godersi la Val d'Orcia.

Läget, tystnaden, avskildheten, enkelheten, att kunna göra egen frukost och sitta ute. Fin och ren pool. Bra info via Whats App från värden före ankomst om sevärdheter, restauranger mm. Nära Radicofani.

Anonymiteten från värden: Ingen personlig kontakt IRL. Kylskåpet inte påslaget då vi kom - det fick vi göra själva. (Hade uppskattat en flaska kallt vatten och isbitar då vi kom fram, i värmen!) Frukosten inte värd Euro 8/person. För mycket regler! Man fick inte använda badhanddukarna vid poolen. Då vi frågade (via Whats App)) om de menade att vi skulle ha tagit med badlakan på flyget från Sverige fick vi låna ett par, men vi ”fick inte tala om det för de andra gästerna). Badlakanen levererades en morgon av en dam (värdinnan?), som inte ens hälsade. Man ska ha badmössa i poolen (vilket förstås ingen hade)! Allergiker varnas: ett gäng fina och söta, men helt utsvultna, katter (upp till 9 st!) kom genast och ville ha mat, som de kastade sig över, då de fick nåt. De verkade vana att gå in i huset. Vanvårdad trädgård och misskötta blommor! Pelargonerna helt uttorkade o vissna. Igenvuxna grusgångar. Myror på och runt nästan alla solstolar runt poolen. Svajigt wifi. Inget avskedsmeddelande el ”tack för besöket” då vi lämnade.
