GangnamStay - Foreign Female Only

Gangnam Stay feels like home away from home, a place where as a woman I'm able to feel safe, cared for and that the accommodation I'm staying at is tailored to a woman's needs. I truly believe that what distinguishes GangnamStay is its heart, the amount of care and effort goes into creating a welcoming space for those travelling far and wide like me to settle in and explore South Korea, be nourished by the delicious authentic Korean food that is lovingly prepared and then rest our heads on a comfortable bed that has privacy blinds, charging ports and ample room to store items in the bed area and the room itself, at the end of our day. The facilities are clean and tidy, with a full bathroom, kitchen and laundry for guest use. I think the word 'guest' is a good one to describe the high level of customer service that is provided, where you are cared for as if you are a friend and connected to the abundant sites and resources both at your fingertips in the Gangnam area or across South Korea. The amount of effort that has been put into tailoring information and customising events for guests to connect has been incredible and something only Sue and the GangnamStay family could do. Even with how great the place is, they're always continuously seeking to improve their service offering, they're so kind and willing to help however they can and they have made my time so pleasant and enjoyable that I want to keep coming back. As a bonus it is very foreigner friendly and Sue's English skills are better than mine so having a multilingual staff is very beneficial (although I'm trying my best to reciprocate by learning Korean). In essence, GangnamStay is the gold standard of service and the very best in female friendly accommodation, I'm glad I found it and have stayed there.

Sue and the staff were amazing ~warm, personable, and endlessly welcoming. Both Korean and American-style breakfast were available, with food available anytime. As a Korean American myself, the Korean food tasted truly authentic ~ like the home cooking my mom and grandmother would make. It's rare to find that small-town, family feel in a big city, but they created it effortlessly, and staying here felt like home: cozy, warm, and the kind of place you don't want to leave. I'll definitely be back in the fall ~ a big part of that is because of Sue. She creates such a warm, welcoming family atmosphere that you just want to be around everyone, which can be difficult for any solo traveler. A group of us went out together several times and had an amazing time and made genuine friends from all over the world in such a short time. It's a girl's girl kind of place ~ stocked with all the amenities women need when traveling, including hair tools, hair products, and charging ports for every guest. Sue definitely knows the things her guests needs. I'll always come back here whenever I'm in Korea!

The facilities are great! But what made this place truly special was Sue's warm hospitality. As it was my first time traveling alone, she made me feel welcome and at home from the very beginning. I also loved the daily Korean soups available for guests! The rooms and bathrooms are always clean, and it's equipped with large lockers. I'd especially recommend this place to solo female travelers. It's a great place to meet people while feeling safe and comfortable. Every time I visit Seoul, I choose to stay here again!
