A wonderful relaxing stay

The owner, Putu, was really friendly and knowledgeable. A very quiet location with a supermarket in easy walking distance and 2 restaurants. I walked to the closest restaurant and it was excellent. The hot springs were also in walking distance a very enjoyable breakfast served on the veranda

The hot springs were very hot indeed. I could only stay in for a few minutes. But the fault of the host of course, but be aware of that.

Fabulous stay, very good value.

Putu was a wonderful host. He is a very calm and knowledgeable gentleman. He arranged a snorkelling trip for us to Menjangan island, which was fabulous and the highlight of our 4 week trip so far. We ran out of time to do the bird tour but it looked fantastic - he showed us some of the birds he’d seen. The rooms are ideal. Clean, spacious and comfortable beds. Air con works well. Breakfast is delicious. Very good value for money!! The fresh water pool was excellent for cooling off. He organised lifts for us into town/ down the coast at any time. There was a fridge for storing bits and kitchen facilities. Cool or hot water available any time from a dispenser. All made the stay very comfortable. We only wish we could have stayed longer !

The cockerels next door could be a bit squawky during the night on some nights but that’s everywhere in Bali!

Compared to other places not very special.

The owner Putu is very friendly and helpful. He repaired my shoe and gave me plaster.

I can’t understand the very good reviews so far. The Homestay is compared to other places on Bali in the same price categorie at the best average. At first they gave me a room with mold in it and very run down. After asking I could change the room which was quite ok. The breakfast was average and the coffee a little less. I had to ask for soap and toilet paper. The garden is nice but the leaves stay on the ground. I asked twice for a bird tour but he couldn’t realize it. But told me later he made a tour with somebody. Everybody is smoking there strong cigarettes. I didn’t like the smell. All together the atmosphere was not for me.

A beautiful rural homestay close to good restaurants and attractions

Putu was a really kind host. He welcomed us immediately and hooked us up with a snorkeling tour. which was fantastic. He also offered a bird watching tour, which I did alone with him and this was really great as well as Putu is very knowledgeable and passionate about birds. The homestay is really lovely and well looked after. Putu has made a really nice garden there. You will be very happy just hanging out in the garden and enjoying the room, which is simple but nice. It's very close to shops and a really fantastic warung called Dapoer Chandra in which my partner and I ate many times. it's really good food for cheap. We also rented a scooter for a cheap price, and found it a good and reliable motor. My partner gets bad mosquito bites so Putu came every day at dusk to put down a mosquito coil. He's a really caring and attentive host without being intrusive. Absolutely no complaints about this homestay

The manager was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. Great snorkling and diving trips are set up by the hotel and transportation provided. I love this hotel. Best value for money in Bali.

The place to be in Banjuwedang

Putu is an excellent and reliable host and manages the Homestay, which is like living on a Bali farm. You get water for free and you can use a washing machine. We were snorkeling with his friend Made and did a mangrove tour with Putu. Both tours were very professional with these friendly guides. We enjoyed our stay at taman menjangan very much and would recommend it to people who don’t need luxurious hotels and yet appreciate clean and homestays and like to experience the more rural way of life.

A superb experience of Balinese hospitality

We were well looked after by Putu and his lovely family and really enjoyed the experience. The snorkelling was amazing and we would highly recommend doing the day trip to Menjangan island.

Well equiped, charming homestay with wonderful snorkelling.

Incredible value stay - a yummy breakfast was included, and Pak Putu can organise a very reasonably priced driver, Bli Aris to pick you up or drop you off. There's a kitchen and a washing machine you can use, and there's a delightful restaurant/warung nearby called Dapoer Chandra which serves a wide variety of amazing Indonesian food at a great price. When you walk around, you'll see some pigs and cows nearby which is a cute surprise. We went snorkelling with Bli Wayan, organised by Pak Putu and it was the best snorkelling instructor we've ever had - he briefed us well, pointed out things to us, taught me a little bit of freediving. Definitely recommend doing that with them, they also offer bird watching trips or mangrove sunset tours.

The AC wasn't very strong, and we saw a big spider in our room - not a dangerous one though, we managed to sort it out ourselves. The bed and pillow could be a bit comfier - it's 2 single beds put together, so there's a bit of a gap sometimes.

Superb

Putu is such a lovely host. He organized our diving/snorkling tour, gave us good recommendations and got us a taxi driver to kuta. His brother was preparing the breakfasts.The rooms are clean and well sized. With the surrounding farms and animals that was the most authentic bali experience we had so far :)

Great simple village accomodation, great value for money

Simple basic facility, actully quite well equiped (e.g. drinking water, kitchen, washing machine) and well maintained. The garden is really beautiful.

Pleasant rural homestay

Large clean basic room. My host introduced me to a local Arak producer, which assisted the remainder of my trip around Bali.

Hard to find with difficult access. The noise neighbors are calves, chickens and pigs. I forgive them and enjoyed their company.

Superb

very friendly host, who organized everything for us. he was very fast and reliable in everything he did. brought us coconuts every day and anything else we were in need of. we did his snorkeling tour which was great. we also went hiking in the forest (organized by somebody else) which was not so great. ask the host for advice what to do, there is a lot and he knows what is good. there is also a nice beach in 25mins walking distance, you can rent boats and go swimming there.

the kitchen is very small, but it suffices to make coffee and there are two good restaurants in 5mins walking distance

Menjangan Island & Banyuwedang Hot Spring

All! Location: good location, close to Banyuwangi port (where you can head to Menjangan Island), to Banyuwedang hotspring, several eateries, and local shops for daily needs. Hospitality: Pak Putu was super hospitable and very calm person. He is the owner and specialized in trekking & bird-watching. Meanwhile Pak Wayan, his friend -is specialized as snorkeling/diving tour guide. There is common kitchen available but we only used it for making tea. Food & service: Breakfast for 2 was affordable, and we ordered for last day. Pak Putu also arranged private snorkeling trip for us, which was also affordable and super worth it. He himself was a practical person which map-shared us to closest eateries that was delicious that we went back 2 times in a row. Overall -> super recommended for backpacking traveler either solo or couple. Staying there, the owner will assist you on trips nearby, and the small city itself is quite and the people were friendly

The road was small and good for 1 car, but it was much accessible if you ride motorcycle like we did.

Superb

We very much appreciated the information and recommendations coming from the owner Putu. On your arrival he shares all the things you need to know to get around (nearest ATM and restaurants on walking distance) and sightseeing ideas. It's so convenient! We rent scooters and went on a lovely sunset mangrove tour with the kind Putu and on a cool snorkeling tour with the funny Wayan. After admiring the beautiful garden and talking about plants and seeds, he gave us a papaya. We brought the seeds home. We wished we had stayed longer in this homestay surrounded with cows, pigs and the ocean breeze. From all the places we went on Bali we liked this laid back area the most.

This place is hidden in a real village. After two tiring weeks in Java, it was perfect for us to spend 5 days to just chill and relax at Putu's little paradise. We have yummy breakfast to start our days then we sometimes just chilled here, took a scooters ride to visit the area. We went to the beaches many times, we went snorkeling, we hiked the national park. It was exactly what we needed. Putu is a very caring person. He kept the place so nice and clean, meanwhile, we had all the space and privacy we needed. All the restaurants, attractions he recommended were great recommendations. I totally recommend this homestay to anyone who wants to have some relaxing and real Bali culture to stay!

Beautiful looking

The staff and the owner of the homestay Putu was really nice, humble and speaks good english he helped us with the things we asked, they are also concerned about the green movement around the place so they also promote it and Kutu younger brother of Putu makes amazing breakfast and he is really nice too and they were mostly available, we stayed when it was really hot even during the so we asked for an extra fan they live a little away from the homestay but still came in five minutes to provide us with the fan. We stayed for 2 nights here the place is beautiful the way its build and looks with a garden and a small farm just outside it, they have mentained it pretty nicely even in the off season its really green and evening were mostly windy and cool beacause of that, tgere are 3 rooms on the property each room has its own sitting area just outside of the room, there is a well equipped kitchen with coffee, tea, free water and refrigerator, there is a sitting area at the corner of the property which is also cool it is designed traditionally and its comfortable. The room was good with enough space a good bed air conditioner and two big windows and the washroom which is kind of open. Overall a good experience on a really beautiful looking homestay

The thing about the location is its in the middle of few places so walking towards a salt farm or the white sandy beach could be a long walk for around 1.7-2km, hiring a scooter to go around could be a good option as well. They also provide it

Best host for both birding Bali Barat and snorkeling Pulau Menjangan.

It was wonderful to stay with Putu. He is a very experienced birding guide and our trip into Bali Barat with him is one of the highlights of our birding expeditions in Indonesia. He also arranged everything for our snorkeling trip to Pulau Menjangan. I had snorkeled there before, but this time our family had a guide, which I really enjoyed, and we were able to snorkel in one direction with the boat picking us up at the end - I've never done that before, just snorkeled around a fixed area in the past. It was like taking a hike in the water - loved it. There were many other boats out that day, but Putu arranged for us to arrive early, so we were always the only group in our area (we beat the crowds). The place is very neat and clean, and the garden was lovely. Putu said he sometimes sees Bali starlings right in his yard, and we saw many sunbirds. Putu went out of his way to be helpful, even arranging for a car to drop us home for free after dinner when he knew we'd be coming home in the dark. Breakfast was very good, and the neighbors even included us in their wedding preparations by bringing us a plate of Balinese sweets. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning was a treat. There were also fresh frangipani flowers on our beds when we arrived.

No complaints, but we had both the double room and the twin bed room, and the bathroom was nicer in the twin room (open to the outdoors), so other travelers might consider that.

幹線道路から少し入った場所で大変静かな素晴らしいところです。キッチン、冷蔵庫、洗濯機が自由に使えるのも最適でウォーターサーバーも冷水、温水があり日本から持参したドリップコーヒーもOKです。お部屋は大きなベッドに荷物置き場、テーブル、衣類ラックまで整い非常に心地良いです。Wi-Fiもこのエリアにしたら非常に早く問題なく使えます。オーナーのプトゥーさんもフレンドリーでとても親切です。また次来たら是非共利用したいと思います。

近くのレストランと温泉が最高

街道から奥まったところにあり非常に静か。ホテルの近くの食堂を紹介されたがその食堂が安い上にとても美味しい。インドネシアに来て1番の料理でした。宿から1kmほどの所に温泉があり夜に行ってみたが快適な温度で楽しめた。ホテルは清潔だが普通。しかしロケーションがいい。

オーナーが常駐していないので連絡したい時に連絡するのが難しい。

Eenvoudige Homestay op handige locatie met goede vogel- en wildlifegids als eigenaar

Eenvoudige Homestay van superaardige eigenaar, die ook nog eens een hele goede vogel- en wildlifegids is. De locatie is handig: op loopafstand van de haven (waarvandaan snorkeltochten vertrekken naar Menjangan) en vlakbij de Homestay zijn prima warungs te vinden, evenals een kleine supermarkt. Mooie tuin en lekker ontbijt. Je kan allerlei excursies boeken via de eigenaar. Wij zijn een hele dag op pad geweest in Bali Barat National Park en de nabij liggende zoutpannen en hebben een snorkeltocht gedaan.

Voor ons was het prima. Als je iets mist, kan je het gewoon vragen en wordt het geregeld. De douche is niet heel warm. Voor ons was dat geen probleem, omdat het buiten heel warm was en een verfrissende douche juist fijn was.

멘장안에 스노쿨링 하러가기 좋은 곳에 위치해 있어요. 호스트가 너무 친절하시고 급할땐 금방 나타나서 해결해 주셔서 불펀함 없이 2박했습니다..욕실이 방 뒤쪽 야외에 있어서 그것도 재미있었고. 멘장안 스노쿨링 투어도 홈스테이에서 저렴하게 할 수 있었습니다.. 밤에 별보는 것도 정말 좋았어요.

숙소 주변이 시골이라 축사냄새가 났지만 하루 지나니까 거슬리지는 않았어요.
