All mattresses are new, luxury comfort. Half-bath is located on main floor, off a fully equipped kitchen with coffee hutch for your convenience.
Somehow the VRBO program has added an amenity of "Hot tub" to our description somewhere, which is not true. We have never had a hot tub and want guests to clearly understand that. We are working with VRBO to correct that mistake and evidently, that is more difficult than expected!
Guests are welcome to use pantry items, spice cupboards and frig condiments.

Note: we now have AC and furnace for your comfort! Traditionally, log homes are not built with either and have always been heated with electric cove heaters.* We ask guests to not use a cove heater at any time. We have taped over the cove heaters to help guests remember not to use them. Another advantage to living in the Black Hills: very low humidity and typically, the evenings cool off to "chilly". We recommend bringing cozy hoodies.

Laundry, WiFi, land line and 4G cell reception, which is an important detail in the Black Hills. Direct TV service provides movie channels for rainy days. Chimnaya and wood supply on main deck. Our wifi is very strong and provides opportunity for catching up on work. Pets are not welcome, but children certainly are!

Our Grill is on cement deck, (there are 5 decks, each with a gorgeous view!) Beautiful, custom built blue-stained pine dining table sits in front of the wood fireplace with a grand view of the Black Elk Wilderness.

RV bay (18'x24') is available to protect your motorcycles or campers. An attached two car garage provides convenience for everyone.
When making a reservation request, please include your phone number, home address and a little note about yourself. We like to get to know our guests! Be especially careful to provide a phone number that receives text. We also recommend that two people in your party keep Robin's cell phone number handy. That way when one phone gets locked inside the cabin, you still have a way to contact us and get the codes again!

We are very responsive to communicate with guests. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know immediately. Robin responds promptly and wants to do everything possible to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Please don't wait until you are checking out to let us know that you have a problem.

Our stay at this magnificent log cabin was beyond our expectations. The owner has provided every thing you could possibly need. The bedrooms, common area, kitchen, multiple outdoor decks made our stay perfect. The log home was immaculate. It would be hard to find any place to top this. Robin was extremely easy to communicate any questions or needs. If you are thinking about visiting the Mt Rushmore area, this VBRO in Custer South Dakota should be your choice.

We were VRBO newbies prior to this being our very first. Heard from all of our friends and colleagues that they do nothing but VRBO's for vacations. We didn't know what we didn't know. So, we wanted our first VRBO to be an exceptional and memorable experience and this one did not disappoint. This exceeded our expectations and set the bar "high" for all future VRBO reservations. Our host was on top of everything including addressing every question and need we had. What I would say is while it was an absolutely beautiful property and was too big for just me and my wife. We also felt that we didn't truly maximize the value of this particular location and amenities because we out doing things every day enjoying the scenery and activities. Again, this was our first VRBO and it did not disappoint.

We were very happy with our stay at Tanglewood Estate. The home was inviting with it's cabin design and thoughtful decor. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of snuggling blankets available. There were a couple rainy days during our trip and garage access for a double cab truck was much appreciated. We saw wildlife every day we were there (squirrels, turkey, deer). My grandson even named one of the deer he kept seeing."Sparky". We spent a lot of time just roaming the property and walking the small paths aroud the home looking at the small treasures the home owners placed along the paths. This home is a great central location to come back to after visiting the surrounding adventures. We would definitely stay again.
