We had 2 weeks in Harcourt and directly our hosts were brilliant. When we arrived the check in was perfect everything explained and assured that Martine and Vincent were always available if needed. The accommodation was clean and very well presented. Pool was great and always cleaned before we got up, also able to cover if weather not great and still swim. The out door kitchen was a great place to relax in the evening with a bbq. Would regimens for a relaxing holiday.

We had a wonderful weeks stay in Harcourt and the accommodation was even better than the pictures. Martine and Vincent were lovely hosts and ensured we had everything we needed. The house was very clean, extremely comfortable beds and great showers. Having the pool was such a bonus as we had very hot weather. The bakery is next door so a real treat having fresh warm croissants in the morning.Location is great too and easy to get around.Overall a fantastic holiday.

We have just returned from an amazing week in Normandy. Harcourt is a traditional Normandy village, with a shop, bakery, bar, restaurant and church. There is a Chateau (with arboretum) ten minutes walk from the property, Bec Abbey is around 15 minutes drive, and Rouen, Deauville, Honfleur, Le Havre and Etretat are all within 1-1.5 hours of the property. The private swimming pool is a real bonus, as it is covered and can be used in all weathers. Martine and Vincent are delightful, and could not have been more welcoming. The house is equipped with everything you need, even swimming towels, so it is home from home. The best thing, however, is the bakery next door - you can pick up your morning croissants and be back before the coffee has even filtered into the pot!

Our holiday home was pure luxury. The big swimming pool had a retractable cover which was easy to open and close on the odd rainy day. Lovely big garden with a delightful enclosed Bbq area complete with gas Bbq. The property was amazing, 3 bedrooms each with their own unique style and all with en suite facilities.
Martine and Vincent are the perfect hosts, very nice and friendly. They were totally unobtrusive, but were always available if needed (not that we needed anything).
Cannot give this place a higher recommendation - it is superb!!!

Second time of staying here, was just as memorable as the first time.
Thanks for your hospitality, the pool was great for the youngsters (and us), local area is full of interest, and history.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful cottage. The location was perfect - in the centre of the village a few moments away from the bakery and market square but set in beautiful gardens which were very pretty and very peaceful and relaxing
The pool was great - a good size to both swim in and for the children to play in. Like the gardens and the cottage - immaculately maintained
The cottage itself is cozy and homely at the same time being stylish with a touch of luxury. Everything we needed had been thought about and was there.
The outside dining area was a lovely area sadly during our visit it wasn’t quite warm enough to sit out at night but during the summer months it would be blissful.
The owners were very welcoming and kind and spent time with us making sure we understood how to use everything in the cottage. As they live onsite they were always around should there have been any problems.
A great stay in a lovely place thank you x

The house was exactly as portrayed in the photos. Spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. A lovely welcome from Martine and Vincent and a much appreciated welcome pack. Even though the owners live on site we had complete privacy but they were always available if needed. We were lucky with the weather and visited Giverny, the new memorial at Vers sur Mer and the Museum at Arromanche. We also enjoyed the covered pool and the extensive grounds at our disposal. Harcourt is a lovely quiet village with a boulangerie just a few steps away and there is also a small village shop, pharmacy, cafe and tabac, and a restaurant and salon de the.
The holiday was everything we expected and more and we are already making plans for a return visit next year.

Martine and Vincent have the most amazing property to rent. The house itself is almost perfect. The only issue is the weather but that was brilliant most of the time we were there and the hosts can’t be held responsible for the rain. The surrounding town although small does have a Boulangerie (amazing produce) a small grocery store and a restaurant. It is very peaceful and quiet.
We arrived to a very clean house and very helpful hosts.
The accommodation is spacious with 3 bedrooms easily fitting a family of 5.
The kitchen and bbq area are very good. The pool was perfect for our family. It was cleaned and prepared every morning before we awoke.
We will definitely be returning when we can

I am delighted to share our enchanting experience at this remarkable self-catering cottage in Normandy. From the moment we stepped foot into the house, we were captivated by the impeccable decor that exuded elegance and charm. Every detail seemed meticulously curated to create a warm and inviting ambiance that truly elevated our stay. The centerpiece of our retreat was undoubtedly the pristine pool.
Our days were a harmonious blend of exploration and relaxation. Venturing into the nearby villages was like stepping into a storybook, each one offering its own unique tapestry of history and culture. Embarking on leisurely journeys to the coast and immersing ourselves in the beauty of Monet’s garden added a touch of wonder to our sojourn.
Normandy itself seemed to weave its spell around us, enchanting us with its captivating landscapes and heartwarming people. The locals radiated a genuine warmth, always eager to extend a helping hand or share a heartfelt recommendation. Martine and Vincent, the gracious hosts of this haven, epitomized hospitality. Their boundless friendliness and unwavering assistance enriched our experience

This gite is a bit like Mary Poppins - practically perfect in every way.
The house is stunning, with all the amenities a family needs for a relaxing holiday. Martine & Vincent have provided a top quality home from home in this converted stable block, making it the ideal place from which to explore the area or just chill by the pool.
They were gracious hosts, too, welcoming us personally and giving us a few groceries (Normandy specialities like cider and Camembert as well as bread, butter and milk) to start us off.
The covered and heated pool was a real asset, especially as we had a rather cool, wet week! We used it every day.
As a previous reviewer mentioned, the ground floor bedroom was a little stuffy at night. A fan would have helped here. But even so, we slept quite well as the bed was really comfortable.
The area is fabulous, with picturesque towns & villages all within easy reach. The market at Le Neubourg is worth a visit, and Rouen is a must…it’s a stunning city. We also enjoyed Bernay & the Chateau du Champ de Bataille. The Harcourt Arboretum is gorgeous.
In conclusion, my family & I had a wonderful week and would recommend this superb gite to everyone.

Caring hostess. Very well equipped. Very nice surroundings. The arboretum is fantastic. Clean and spacious. Quit very cozy garden. Stylish interior. We could charge our electric car with our own charger.
Highly recommended. We stayed 10 nights and enjoyed every minute.
Lovely bakery around the corner. The restaurant, when open, is great. Small and lovely grocery store.

This is an exceptional holiday home. The owners were very welcoming and had kindly left a few provisions and regional products for our arrival - all much appreciated. The house is very clean, well laid out and very well equipped. There is a beautiful garden with plenty outdoor furniture, a summer kitchen/BBQ area and a warm pool. The owners are very discreet but are close to hand and very willing to help with any questions about the area and suggestions for visits. The village has everything we needed - a boulangerie a few steps from the house, an épicerie, a pharmacie, tea room and Tabac. It's a 10 minute drive to the Leclerc supermarket in Le Neubourg for anything you can't get in the village. Good market in Le Neubourg on Wednesday with a selection of regional products, fruit, veg, clothes etc. There is plenty to see and do in the area without driving far. I would recommend a walk round the arboretum of the chateau d'Harcourt and a guided tour of the Abbey at Le Bec_Hellouin. We had a very relaxing ten days here and would definitely recommend to others.

Fabulous holiday home in lovely, peaceful village.
This really is an exceptional holiday home where the owners have thought about everything. Perfect for a family ranging in ages from 2-65, especially the wonderful pool and garden with swings and slide for children. Fabulous beds, showers, towels, kitchen. Completely safe as it totally enclosed within the grounds of the owners’ house. Bakery, restaurant, pharmacy and lovely tea room all within 2 minutes walk. Harcourt is a pretty, quiet village with lots to do in the surrounding area. Martine and Vincent were welcoming and charming hosts, ready to help out whenever we needed them. Thank you for a wonderful holiday and we will definitely see you again! Best wishes Rosie, Chris and family x

Private and secluded yet in the village!
Private and secluded yet in the village!
We all loved this property! very clean and had everything we needed for a self catering holiday. The rooms are all very attractive and extremely comfortable. The pool area is kept in a pristine condition with sun loungers and towels provided. The gardens are beautifully planted and well kept. The night time antics of the automatic lawnmower kept us entertained at times! The village is accessed from the kitchen door and only a few seconds walk to fetch fresh bread and croissants for breakfast from the bakery or a visit to the tabac for a drink or two! We visited Paris one day and Martine was extremely helpful with information on the train times. We also drove to Rouen and Honfleur one day and then Arromanches and Bayeux another day. We visited the local markets in Brionne on Sunday and Le Neubourg on Wednesday. Wonderful produce there! Also found Le Clerc at Le Neubourg a great supermarket. Only small suggestions for the place would be a few board games such as Scrabble, chess etc in case of a wet day and maybe a few music cd's too. One problem we found was that on the hot nights we had there wasn't enough ventilation in the downstairs bedroom. Maybe a fan there would help?
Overall a wonderful holiday and I'm sure we'll go back!

Surpassed all of our expectations!
Martine and Vincent are the consummate hosts. When we arrived we found the well equipped kitchen already stocked with food and beverages to get us started. The next day they drove us to Le Neubourg to show us where to buy groceries, gas and wine. It was very considerate and helpful. Even though they live on the property they always sought to insure our privacy. The little village is friendly and includes a baker, a grocer, a pharmacy that provides COVID tests, and an excellent restaurant. We loved everything about our stay and recommend this property with no hesitation whatever. Now, we have friends in Harcourt.

Beautiful and comfortable house in a lively Normandy village
The house is clean and comfortabele and anything you might need is there. The kitchen is very complete; all is there from the basics to a handmixer, juicer etc. Martine et Vincent stocked the fridge with butter, milk and water and a fresh baguette was also waiting for us. Very kind! The village is a nice place to start exploring Normandy. The coast is an hours drive away as are many other worthwhile places. The Château d’Harcourt and the Chateau de Beaumesnil are really worth your while. All in all highly recommended!

Martine and Vincent's property in Harcourt is a fantastic location from which to get the most from this lovely part of Normandy. The cottage is finished and equiped to a very high standard with beautiful attention to detail and incredibly comfy beds. Martine and Vincent live close by and were very welcoming, helpful and interested in what we had enjoyed most about our holiday.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone and hope to return in the future.

Excellent Gite in a small quiet village
Excellent Gite in a small quiet village
Delightful property exactly as advertised right in the heart of the village of Harcourt. A twenty SECOND walk in the morning to the excellent boulangerie. A great base for touring around Normandy. It would have been nice to have a TV in the main downstairs lounge area (I'm told) - it didn't bother me at all. It was nice just to sit outside in the warm air with a glass or two of wine. Hosts were excellent - kept out of the way but were always there if you needed them. Very close to perfect and a Gite I'd be happy to return to.
We had a wonderful time in this superb, very beautiful and comfortable holiday home.
The hosts were of outstanding generosity and friendliness: on arrival they had put - on top of the usual culinary survival items - numerous gorgeous local specialities into the kitchen for us.
We loved the atmosphere in the house. We felt immediately at home there because throughout the house all the furniture and decoration had the feel of having been lovingly put together over time. There is a clever mix of elegant and homely, with modern international items, antiques, and local furniture with a distinctly French flair. We also loved the unusual paintings and artefacts, and the little extras which were dotted all over the place: flowers, candles, serviettes, bread-guillotine, etc.
We made full use of the kitchen, which is furnished to perfection. Apart from the spacious family salon/dining-room, we could also spread out in the upstairs sitting room, exploring the attractive English/French book collection, and using the chess table and computer desk in comfort. The beds are very comfortable, the whole house was spotlessly clean, and the sanitary facilities were flawless in quantity and quality. The private car entrance and parking facilities were a big plus, and we particularly enjoyed the use of the loggia and garden.
We could not resist the culinary local facilities: the bakery - literally next-door! - the delicatessen shop, the cider café, and the restaurant.
We enjoyed very much the quiet of the location, being surrounded by a nice feel of French village life, hearing only owls by night, and seeing woodpeckers and swallows by day. We visited the superb local arboretum, the picturesque Le Bec-Hellouin, and multi-faceted Rouen: all very much worth a visit! Had we had more time, we would have visited more of the various coastal resorts and castles of the region.
All in all, a superb experience to be repeated and highly recommendable!

Hi to anyone,
To sum up my opinion in one word about my stay in Harcourt, I would use the term delight. Our hosts received us warmly. Meanwhile we visited the house we would occupy the next few days, they made feel us they have been waiting for our coming.
About the installations and facilities provided there, everything was perfect from the heated swimming pool, the comfort of the beds to the overall cleanliness and the accessories and the well furnished kitchen.
If you plan to have a stay around in a beautiful corner of Normandy, at 1 hour from Honfleur, it's really the place to be.
Thanks again to our hosts.

This property is located in the middle of the small, rural village of Harcourt. Martine and Vincent, the extremely lovable and attentive owners, live in the main house. The tenants stay in the former stable, which is furnished in a very pleasant mix of old and new style. The kitchen lacks nothing, the beds are very good and the bathrooms invite you to take a bath or shower.
The additional summer dining room with a large gas grill is a real highlight.
We felt very comfortable in the two weeks. After extensive excursions and hikes, we always came back happy to end the evening with a delicious cider.
And even the small town has some sights to discover.
We will be happy to come back and by then the new swimming pool, which we unfortunately just missed, will be ready.

Martine & Vincent have created an idyll with their holiday home, which allows a wonderfully relaxing holiday in an absolutely quite surrounding. Nevertheless, all the major attractions of Normandy can be reached within 1-2 hours by car. Even for everyday needs, everything can be bought either locally or within a few kilometers.
The apartment is comfortable and well equipped. Even a small welcome package was prepared by Martine & Vincent. The kitchen is equipped with everything necessary.
Overall, we spent wonderful two weeks in Harcourt and enjoyed every moment there.

Fantastic holiday home with very kind hosts
We've spend a week in this beautiful holiday home in the small village Harcourt. The house felt really good, very clean with comfortable beds with lots of pillows :-), nice bath and shower, and a fully equipped kitchen. In the garden a lovely large 'garden shed' where you can eat your meals. And very kind hosts. It made our visit to France very relaxed and awesome at the same time.
We enjoyed the local surroundings such as: the local arboretum, the abbey Le Bec-Hellouin and the impressive Chateau du Champs -de- Bataille and villages in the neighbourhood. On an hour drive we visited Honfleur, Monets Garden at Giverny, Vernon and the beaches of Trouville and Deauville; all worth while a visit.
