About this villa rental

In the heart of the Var region, in a peaceful setting, 15 km from Draguignan, between the sea (25 km as the crow flies - 40 minutes by car) and the Verdon Gorges (20 km as the crow flies - 40 minutes from Trigance), you will enjoy exceptional views of a typical Provençal village (Callas) and unobstructed views all the way to the coastline, in an environment perfect for relaxation near remarkable sites.

You will have the entire house and exclusive use of the swimming pool, far from prying eyes and noise. Complete privacy. Seclusion and tranquility guaranteed.
The house and its pool benefit from a particularly favorable orientation, ensuring maximum sunshine throughout the day. Depending on your mood or the time of day, you can enjoy lunch in the shade of the mulberry-plane trees (overlooking the village) or sheltered under the pool house with its adjoining summer kitchen, relax in the garden furniture on the terrace, or host a meal at the large mosaic table with its exceptional panoramic view.

The "Domaine des Moulières" is a large 7,000 m² property on terraced land planted with olive trees and Provençal flora: thyme, bay, rosemary, cypress, linden, mulberry-plane trees, hackberry trees, etc.

It's close to the village (a 10-minute walk) via a pleasant path leading to shops, including a remarkable bakery-pastry shop, a mini-market, and quality restaurants. Numerous picturesque walks and hikes start right from the house, either on foot or by mountain bike.

Our house, built in a typical Provençal style, uses traditional materials, including Salernes terracotta tiles, interior vaulted stone ceilings, and antique furniture. For your comfort, the house is equipped with a quiet air conditioning system that allows you to regulate the temperature room by room, both in winter and summer.

2023: Our house was awarded a 4-star "Furnished Tourist Accommodation" rating by the French Tourism Development Agency.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

- 10m x 5m swimming pool with pool house and summer kitchen.
- Heated swimming pool (particularly outside the summer season).
- Ping-pong table.
- Completely separate office, ideal for working from home.
- Three bedrooms with 160cm wide designer solid wood double beds. Beds and mattresses are new (2023), high quality, and protected (mattress protectors changed between each rental and washed at 60°C). Beds are made upon your arrival (duvets with two pillows per person).
- Sheets and linens (bath towels, hand towels, and kitchen towels) are provided and included in the rental price.
- Final cleaning fee included in the rental price.
- Reduced tourist tax collected by the booking platform and paid directly to the local authority.
- During rental periods, the owners occupy a separate building at the entrance to the property. The distance between the two buildings ensures complete privacy.

Beautiful house, solidly built with incredible views and everything you could possibly need. The surrounding area is also gorgeous. For larger people it is worth knowing the beds are solidly built, one room is on the ground floor and the walk in shower on the ground floor is very spacious. You can park right next to the front door. The hosts live next door (detached property) and were super helpful and kind. They only communicated when needed amd gave good suggestions for excursions. Othersise we were left alone and felt private. Would definitely go back and book again.

Do you know the feeling when you actually do not want to share a comment because an experience was so beautiful that you want to keep it as a little secret just for yourself? This property is beautiful, even more beautiful than the photos can show, and Jean-Paul and Myriam are the nicest hosts you can think of. The only problem here is that it is not possible to give even more than 5 stars – they would deserve it!

We had a wonderful 2 week holiday in this fabulous house with amazing views. Jean-Paul & Myriam were very welcoming and helpful with great suggestions on all the many area’s sightseeing opportunities and activities (including bike rides, walking, canoeing etc), but we also had our complete privacy to fully enjoy the comfortable, well equipped house, the large pool and garden surrounds. The location was ideal for us, being pretty much equidistant between the coast and the Gorges du Verdon, plus close to many other beautiful villages & countryside to explore. Also a short walk into Callas village itself in the morning to the very good local boulangerie and also restaurants in the evening, when we weren’t all simply dining outside at the house enjoying the views or using the great summer kitchen area.In summary, we had a perfect family holiday with our two sons and wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend.

If you want the real deal, we can highly recommend this house as your base for visiting Provence. The location is perfect with plenty of attractions within 90 minutes drive - classic hill-top villages (Seillans, Tourrettes, Tourtour, Chateaudouble), wineries, Gorges du Verdon for hiking and the Riviera (St Tropez, Antibes). Add to this, the village of Callas which is a cosy 5 minute walk away with a few local restaurants, a friendly tabac, corner deli and boulangerie - this is genuine France without the hype or tourists. We stayed for three weeks and weren't ready to leave - we loved it !Jeanpaul was an excellent host - with a warm welcome, good spoken English and plenty of advice on what to do in the area. The house is the old family home with a very relaxed pool area, great patio (with views southwards and to the village centre) and a good living area indoors for the off-season traveller. The bed was a comfortable double (not a given in France) and a reasonable shower / bathroom.Thanks to Jeanpaul and Myriam for a great stay - we will return when we need another fix of our favourite bit of Provence.
