The location was good

Wasn't very clean

The location is excellent, very central, although Preveza isnt a very big town so pretty much anywhere is quite close to the middle of things. My room was one of four adapted from one original apartment, everything was clean and well-maintained - in fact I think recently decorated. Management is from afar, no one is actually present.- Written messages go through a translator app, judging by the grammar of the responses. That said, the responses were always prompt, and my requests (electric kettle and an extra blanket) were fulfilled next day.

My room smelled of cigarette smoke, regardless of all the rooms being non-smoking, someone had been discourteous enough to ignore the request - this is certainly a downside of remote management. The only person I saw was the cleaning lady who was always cheerful and helpful.

The room was clean and comfortable and equipped with a fridge, a microwave with a hob oven on top, and a sandwich toaster. There was a basket containing two sachets of sugar and two herbal tea bags, and a coffee machine - yet no pods. The bed was comfortable, with additional blankets in the wardrobe. There was a good hair dryer and the mirrors were well-positioned. I liked the balcony and it's great there is a mosquito screen. It was relatively near to the marina (see more on this below). The WiFi connection was good and the kitchen is well-equipped with glasses for drinks etc.

When I arrived, I thought I would be met by the host but there was no one there despite pre-booking my arrival time. I had to call the host on Whats App and they told me my room number and explained the key is in the open door. If I didn't have an eSim, I would've struggled to make contact with the host. After arriving, my door was open and the maid stepped into my room asking why I hadn't left and then stood in the room calling someone until I asked her to leave. I had to use Chat GPT to explain to her (translated) that I had only just checked in. On my first day, I took a shower and the water was pleasantly hot but the following morning, it was freezing. I let the host know and the maid came to show me it was working, around 30 mins later - but as I had to leave at 10am for a flight, I had been forced to take a freezing cold shower already to ensure I left on time. The apartment is near the marina but it is located down a few side roads which aren't well-lit at night. I did feel a little uncomfortable walking back on my own in the evenings. It's about a 10-12 minute walk to the marina so I'd have liked to have stayed a little closer ideally. The bathroom is like a wetroom and there is nothing to stop the shower water from flooding the whole room. I lay a rolled-up towel on the floor as I was worried it could leak into the main room too. It was very slippery and dangerous. There is no holder for the shower on the wall either. The apartments are based on the second floor, up two flights of stairs - not ideal with heavy luggage.
